Ted (if short for Edward) and Meredith.

randomimposter · 26/04/2011 21:13

Ted
Nell
erm that's it...

FebreezeYourJeans · 26/04/2011 20:35

Ted (I'm biased though) and Nell or Meredith.

Newgolddream · 26/04/2011 20:25

Im sorry, I think they are all awful, well apart from Greta which is just ok. Boo - this is a nickname - would you really consider calling a baby this and putting it on the birth certificate?

squeak2392 · 26/04/2011 20:24

Boys:
Moss - Okay. Bit odd, but it's not ridiculous.
Pip - Okay as a nn, but I think just a bit too feminine for a full name.
Ted - Fine. Personally prefer full names on birth certificates.

Girls:
Beau - Sorry, where are you from? Very hill billy.
Boo - Now this IS ridiculous. She's going to get jokes all her life, and never be taken seriously.
Dusty - Not ridiculous, but a bit silly. You wouldn't describe her as being dusty, so why call her it?
Greta - Lovely classic name.
Maud - Perfectly fine.
Meredith - Beautiful.
Nell - Very nice; fine as a stand alone name.
Sybil - Lovely.

Your boys names are just as 'okay' as each other, but please don't name your daughter Boo, whatever you do. Preferably not Beau or Dusty either. Greta, Meredith, Nell and Sybil are all lovely names.

sb6699 · 26/04/2011 19:54

Nell is by far the best.

I'm really sorry, I dont want to hurt your feelings, but the rest are pretty awful.

CocktailQueen · 26/04/2011 19:44

Moss - sorry, hate this
Pip - and this is worse
Ted - ok but not great

Girls
Beau - ok
Boo - no, just as a nickname
Dusty - no!
Greta - no, too old fashioned
Maud - old fashioned, no
Meredith - yes, like this
Nell - yes, possible
Sybil- no, fawlty towers!

Sorry :(

SleepyCaz · 26/04/2011 19:34

Pip is awful. Can you imagine a strapping, six-foot, fifteen year old sports nut, called Pip? As is Dusty. Rest are nice.

BigSooz · 26/04/2011 19:23

Moss - quirky, but I like it. Short for Moses or Amos, though, maybe?
Pip - dreadful, wet, ridiculous for a grown man
Ted - yuck. Teddy is cringey.

Girls
Beau - for a GIRL? NO. Ridiculous.
Boo - Please NO. Silly, silly name,
Dusty - PMSL. NO.
Greta - beautiful.
Maud - horrrific
Meredith - not to my taste, but better than Boo / Bo / Schmo etc
Nell - lovely, penelope? helena?
Sybil - Basil. NO.

Happygochuckie · 26/04/2011 19:22

Ted is a great name. Pip is ok, I know a little Pip, it really suits him. Nell, Maud or Meredith for girl imo

blindmelon · 26/04/2011 19:22

Ted and Meredith all the way!! I have a Meredith so I am biased, I love her name. I also love Tess (DH vetoed it for DD Sad) so I am quite jealous of your name too Grin

noddyholder · 26/04/2011 19:17

Ds was going to be dusty if a girl I love it. Love all those names and several were on our list!

Checkmate · 26/04/2011 19:15

Ted or Greta.

livinlavidaloca · 26/04/2011 18:37

Beau and Boo - with your surname are going to sound like 'BOYEAH!'rbury... as in, the thing that rudeboy chavs say....

Pip Yerbury is like 'Pip yer Berry'

And Ted Yerbury sounds like someone mumbling 'Teddybeary'

Definately Meredith and Moss.

PoweredbyTea · 26/04/2011 18:09

I love Nell. Afraid am not keen on any of the others... and would go as far as saying please don't use Moss!!

messylittlemonkey · 26/04/2011 18:08

Ted and Nell

BendyBob · 26/04/2011 18:04

Dusty?? (As in bin?Confused)

Jamie Oliver has a 'Boo' hasn't he? I didn't realise it was a name tbh - it sounds like a family nickname for a child. I can't imagine an adult called either of those.

usualsuspect · 26/04/2011 18:02

I don't like any of them apart from Ted ,sorry

Maud ,especially is an awful name

tummytickler · 26/04/2011 18:01

Love Sybil, Maude and Greta

FattyAcid · 26/04/2011 17:56

I like your names other than Beau is a boy's name! I really wouldn't advise it for a girl

oohlaalaa · 26/04/2011 17:48

Ted and Greta

TurtlesAreRetroRight · 26/04/2011 17:37

Use any of them but Beau is a boys name. Belle is the female equivalent. It's like calling a girl Trevor.

pinkgirlythoughts · 26/04/2011 17:34

I love Maud, really wanted it for our girls list, but absolutely everyone else (in RL) has laughed at me for it!

Ted and Nell seem a bit popular compared to the others, I've taught a Nell and two Teds, and I've only been in teaching for three years.

Out of all your names, my favourites are Ted, Maud and Sybil.

80sMum · 26/04/2011 17:31

I love Maud. If I were to have another dd she'd definitely be Maud.

Not too keen on your boys' names. Ted is OK, but why not plump for Edward, then it could always be shortened to Ted if you wanted (or not, if he didn't want later on , iyswim)

caramelwaffle · 26/04/2011 17:27

None of them.

You did say honesty.
