Lilith gets a bad press but here's something you could read snippets to your Gran from.

strawberrymewmew · 28/04/2011 00:22

Duchesse I just repeated your comment to my Gran as it made me smile a bit and she didn't get it. :(

Lilith- lovely strong name, not like that wimpy Eve who gets the blame for everything and takes it meekly.

strawberrymewmew · 28/04/2011 00:17

meditrina I absaloutly adore the name October, but my family keep telling me it's not a "proper name" :(

meditrina · 28/04/2011 00:15

I like Lilith, and Leonora (not Lenore - again because of the fabric conditioner). I'm not keen on Autumn or Winter - how about October or Octavia instead? I'm not too sure about Luna - the HP association will remain strong for a while, and that character is nn Looney.

I think Zachary is great, but am not keen on Grigori.

strawberrymewmew · 28/04/2011 00:09

Nup, I just don't think any other colour really suits me. :/ The pink hair makes me happy and less self conscious so I keep it that way.

With the tattoos and piercings I have always had a fascination with them. To me it's never really been a statement or an attention thing, more just a love of how they look and how you have the power to change your own body. Probably the reason why most of mines are hidden.

Awww, solution to that is get pink hair. ;)
Tbh I sometimes get jealous of the people without pink hair, piercings and the tattoos.
(Gets a bit annoying sometimes when people stare)

Thanks everyone. I can see what names I will defineatly not be going with now!

Baby will be born in October so will be Autumn/Winter kind of season.

Sounds sad but the reason I liked the name Luna was because the girl who plays Luna Lovegood in Harry Potter is so pretty and bubbly. :)

TheSecondComing Couldn't be further from a wannabe wag tbh. :P I have bright pink hair and piercings! :)

Autumn and Zachary are the nicest IMO.

darleneconnor · 26/04/2011 17:02

Lilith ok but there are far too many lily's atm imo
Autumn great
Winter not so much, too nicole richie
Lenore too fabric softner
Luna too footballers wives

Boys names:
Grigori is this a name?
Zachary saved by the bell but ok

BumpPlus2 · 26/04/2011 16:42

Girls names :
Lilith - don't like and would be possibly shortened to Lily which is very popular
Autumn - love IF that is the season the baby is born in
Winter - as above!
Lenore - no sorry
Luna - again dislike and too many Footballers Wives associations with Elen and Posh

Boys names:
Grigori
Zachary
Dislike both of these sorry Wink

strawberrymewmew · 26/04/2011 15:19

I love the name Autumn, DP isn't really liking it though. :P
And no Lenore as in from the Edgar Allan Poe poem. (The fabric softener doesn't have an e at the end)
:)

1 = Best, 3 = Worst.

Girls names :
[1] Lilith, Autumn, Luna
[2] Winter
[3] Lenore (Like the laundry cleaner?)

Boys names:
[1] Zachary
[2] Grigori (Gregory's okay, but I don't get this. It looks too Russian.)

CarefulWithThatAxeEugene · 25/04/2011 01:24

Lenore is a bit Edgar Allan Poe as well as fabric softener, but there is also Leonora.

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 24/04/2011 22:11

Luna and Lilith okay.
Grigori looks v v odd to me.

ballstoit · 24/04/2011 22:09

I love Autumn, but think Winter is more suited to a boy.

Dont really like either Luna or Lenore but like Lilith.

Have you considered Neva - means snow, I wanted it for DD2 because it snowed when we had each of her 3 scans, but DP was not keen.

I like Zachary but not Grigori as I think it will just be seen as a weird spelling of Gregory.

strawberrymewmew · 24/04/2011 22:03

Thanks again. :)
And Lonnie I have checked the mythological background. Lol.

OP posts:
Lonnie · 24/04/2011 20:52

I love Lilith but I wasnt so keen on the mythological aspects of it I have to admit (sorry if you havent checked that part)

like Autumn never cared much for Zachary to be honest nto sure what i think about Grigori

the others I am just very oh ok about nothing special

WhipMeIndiana · 24/04/2011 20:47

love Autumn
not Winter ( think dried up and frosty Hmm

Luna would be called 'Looney' throughour school - avoid
Lenore is ok but bit fabric softener - avoid
Lilith was the evil old bat Frasier Crane was married to, hmm? not the best connotation

boys - Grigori - weird
Zachary - Love it.

fancydress · 24/04/2011 20:45

Referring to Cruz and Brooklyn there, not the OPs name choices

BigSooz · 24/04/2011 20:45

I like Lilith very much. No to the rest. Luna paricularly footballer's wives.

Zachary is nice, too. No to Grigori.

fancydress · 24/04/2011 20:44

Its not so much that the names have become popular its more of a case that they have been picked up and used in families alongside names like Chardonnay and Destinee-Lee
