Barnaby
Hope
Freya

Obviously we don't know if boy or girl! We already have Caspar. Barnaby is DH's suggestion, he is very hard to please and I am just not sure I am quite commited to it. Would appreciate thoughts on any of them please.

Hope is lovely. Not keen on Barnaby or Freya, sorry.

I love Barnaby. It sounds very nice with Caspar

TurtlesAreRetroRight · 21/04/2011 18:00

Barnaby is superb. I know a couple. Both known as Barns.

Hope and Freya are meh.

Caspar is great too. Good choice.

Clary · 21/04/2011 17:55

Hmm yes the only Benedict I know is universally known as Ben. Maybe that's his parents' choice tho IYSWIM (and then something different if he wants when older).

Barnaby is a bit too much "Focus Barnaby Focus" see threads on this name before. It's not my cup of tea. Like Hope and Freya tho. Hope is a very short name so better with a long surname IMO - Hope Etherington better than Hope Jones.

muminthemiddle · 21/04/2011 15:34

Barnaby is nice. Think I would choose Freya out of the girl's choices.

Eglu · 21/04/2011 14:50

I think there are all lovely. Benedict is nice but would end up being Ben. Barnaby much more interesting.

I adore Clementine, and I think I have finally gotten DH to agree to it as a middle name for our soon to be DD, as he won't have it as a first name.

elseIlltellyourfather · 21/04/2011 14:38

Thanks everyone. Not a great deal of love for Freya, and I tend to think Hope is not the nicest sound anyway, just a nice word IYSWIM. I am liking Barnaby more, Benedict is good too; thanks Jollister. I also like Clementine, tis on my list! Any other thoughts anyone? Finding it tricky to find one this time around, as have used up Caspar!

Hope is lovely.
Freya - meh.
Barnaby is hideous. Too twee middle class Bugaboo for words.

randomimposter · 21/04/2011 08:42

Of the names you mention, love Hope, Barnaby is ok, but Freya always makes me think of fraying threads of Fray Bentos pies...

With Caspar I think Benedict Grey sounds great. And Lara Rose.

Sorted! :)

ChippingInLovesEasterEggs · 20/04/2011 23:13

Barnaby Bear's Adventures - I'd no sooner call a boy Barnaby than I would Paddington - sorry.

Hope & Freya are both OK. Hope will probably have quite an increase in popularity after the baby in Corrie.

MelinaM · 20/04/2011 23:09

Barnaby Gray is a lovely name, and goes extremely well with CasparSmile I love both of your girls name, but Freya wins by ever such a slim margin! x

NotaMopsa · 20/04/2011 22:24

Like Hope and Freya LOVE Caspar

Barnaby a bit teddy bear ..bit wet for me and I do not often say that as I love boys names especially different ones...... Most people I know LOVE it though

Barnaby is ok, really like Barnie for a nn
not keen on the girls name

missmelo · 20/04/2011 18:24

Caspar and Freya are lovely, Hope is ok, Barnaby wouldn't be my cup of anything but if you and your partner like it go for it :) good luck with the baby

nickelbaalamb · 20/04/2011 14:22

I love the name Barnaby.
I knew a boy called Barnaby when I was in 6th form.
He was beautiful.
everyone called him Barny.

Bucharest · 20/04/2011 14:20

Barnaby definitely goes with Caspar and I like it.
I don't like either of your girls' names I'm afraid. I find Hope very "Neighbours" and Freya is a bit mid 90s.

NoHenIntended · 20/04/2011 13:14

Barnaby Rose doesn't really go, sorry.

:)

NotAgainFrank · 20/04/2011 13:12

Barnaby and Caspar is a great combination. Love both of them.

Freya? Hope? Meh, both are nice enough but I'm not sure either really works particularly works with Caspar.

elseIlltellyourfather · 20/04/2011 13:07

Quite polarised then on Barnaby! I feel the same about it, so would have been swayed if everyone had felt the same way, either way. Middle name will be Rose as that is my mum's name (or maybe Rosemary if we go with Hope). Gray is boy middle name

I quite like Barney as a nname.

Freya Hope is pretty.

theagedparent · 20/04/2011 13:02

Barnaby is great

BikeRunSki · 20/04/2011 12:57

Hope would be my choice if Bump is a girl, but does not work with accent around here. Will be middle name instead.

TheVisitor · 20/04/2011 12:48

I really don't like Barnaby. Hope and Freya are sweet, although Freya is very popular where I live.
