I know I'm being ridiculous but ever since I read Death of a Salesman I have always loved the name 'Happy'.

I don't think my OH would ever, ever agree to this so it's pretty much a no-go, but I really love it.

Please tell me how ridiculous it is so I can move on to names a-new.

Btw, Happy goes really well with my surname.

What Gilmore? [grins] I know its a bad joke and one you'll probably here a million times, that and lots of dwarf jokes.

Just use it as a nickname that has nothing to do with the babys actual name, my dads family does this a lot Hmm or do the decent thing and use it as a name for their first cuddly toy!!.

If you like the sentiment, go for Joy or something that translates as happy.

merry is better

Well, it IS a name that is used not infrequently in some parts of Africa. But for the UK - a bit silly IMHO. But it is a nice sentiment, so maybe thing of things that mean the same - eg Felicity or Allegra. APols, can only think of girls names for Happy.

I could think of worse names, I think its cute... Can't imagine your child would thank you for it when they are an adult though!
