I've had some useful comments on another thread so here is our shortlist for baby boy due next month. We have some kind of issue/problem with every name which is why we're not able to choose (I am very fussy I accept this and we both find boy's names v hard) Do your worst

Ludovic
Wyatt
Euan
Seamus
Fraser

For info, we both really like Patrick/Paddy but can't use it as has just been used in the (close) family.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

DH & I have now launched into a discussion of Wyatt Earp. He was Jewish. Are you Jewish or at least American?

lljkk · 17/04/2011 19:03

I don't like any of them. Ludovic & Wyatt are especially horrid. Euan is the most conventional (will get you the least grief).

haudyerwheesht · 17/04/2011 18:56

Do you want other suggestions? Well in case you do, what about...

Ruari
Lachlan
Struan
Logan

SolarPanel · 17/04/2011 18:54

Euan or Seamus

haudyerwheesht · 17/04/2011 18:54

Euan and seamus both lovely. Rest - erm, not to my taste.

ilovemydogandMrObama · 17/04/2011 18:47

Lucien
Sebastian

BenignNeglect · 17/04/2011 18:36

Seamus, Euan and Fraser are good. Please not the others.

ChippingInLovesEasterEggs · 17/04/2011 18:28

Piie - glad to hear you are all fine :) I can't believe you are only 12 weeks off, it only seems like last month you found out you were pregnant?!

NC - you could change it to NorkilyChallengeNoMore :) then we'd still 'know' you!

Oliver
Angus
Charlie
George

.... but I'm sure you have at least two naming books to choose from! Grin

tiptoptally · 17/04/2011 18:27

Ludovic - do you hate this baby already?!?!!
Wyatt - Kinda cool, I quite like it!
Euan - ok, kind of a nothing sort of name tho
Seamus - there's worse names. Ludovic for example....
Fraser - great scottish name, absolutely fine for a first name, and not too common. Love it!

Just my opinions!!

NorkilyChallenged · 17/04/2011 18:12

No problem Pixie - no we've never had a boy's name so always been good to know we were having girls in the past! Good luck finding names you like this time Smile

You're quite right BikeRunSki - Wyatt is cool. Fact Wink

No sorry notanumber I already know a couple of Toby's and don't particularly like it

OP posts:
notanumber · 17/04/2011 18:10

Tobias?

BikeRunSki · 17/04/2011 18:09

I know a 4 yo Wyatt. I think it's cool.

I like Fraser best of your list. One of Gordon Brown's sons is a Fraser. I'd be tempted to spell it with a z though. Don't know why.

ChippingIn - thanks Smile And yes, possibly my name is getting less appropriate, maybe I should be changing it?

Pixie - 2 girls (but can't give you names as I've already said enough to identify myself on here to any RL MNing friends/family!)

Piie - (missed you chicken, how are you and how is DD??) Alphonse - bloody hell, I hope your DH doesn't let you anywhere near the registy office!! Grin

NC - are you still NC even though you are almost ready to drop?? LOL

Well... you did ask....

Ludovic - WTF? No... just NO.
Wyatt - Wyatt are ya doin?
Euan - Yes, You an who?
Seamus - The only one I know is ADORABLE a really, really lovely man - but he's in his 70's so I can't really imagine a baby called Seamus?!
Fraser - No, the smelly boy at school

Dominic - thank god you don't like Dom :)

This is why I stay away from baby name threads! Honestly, if it was down to me there'd only be a dozen boys names in use!!

Good Luck

4 weeks sigh (am v impatient)

It's lovely, feel free. I see it mentioned a lot on MN but never met a real Sylvie and if this is a surprise girl, she'll be a Sylvie.

Do you know what you're having this time?

We toyed with Dominic but don't like Dom really. Find boy's names so hard...

Alfie is too popular and I don't particularly like it and don't even think Alphonse is very nice in French.

Sorry.... I am horribly fussy though.

I've got 2 girls. Another girl would be Sylvie - interested? (my mum is a big Sylvie Vartan fan so I've had this name picked since I was really young)

Pixie & frakyou - sorry no to all of those. I like Luca(s) but not Luke (plus it's too popular now). Don't like any of the others (Louis Walsh, for example, told you I was fussy Wink) except Alexander (too popular) and Antoine (doesn't go with surname at all)

DD1 has vetoed Gaston because of Beauty & the Beast ("oh no, he's horrible") Grin

frakyouveryverymuch · 17/04/2011 17:16

Luke, Hugo, Alexander, Mark, Jerome, Albert? All on our French/English list for boys.

frakyou yes yes, that's what I said about Euan... "whose army?"...

amothersplace hm, this is how I feel sometimes but apparently you can't just call a child "number 3" so we need to find something Grin

I'm loving that there's no consensus, explains why DH and I can't agree Wink
