Or Coral? On the hunt for the elusive name that is beautiful, unusual but not odd, as always. Any thoughts?

I like Cora, also Corinne and Corina are pretty names. Coral is ok but Cora much nicer IMO.

missmelo · 18/04/2011 00:47

Its very Downton Abbey, wealthy heiress, its pretty. I don't like Coral ( I know its a colour but sounds a bit like a disease...sorry)

Maud2011 · 17/04/2011 08:57

I'm not keen on either and Cora reminds me of one of those things for taking out the middle of apples.

I think Dora is prettier, and so are Flora and Laura.

kitkat1000 · 15/04/2011 21:14

dont mind either but there are far prettier names out there

MrsLukeDanes · 15/04/2011 20:59

I love Cora, but not so keen on Coral. Wasn't the American mum in Downton Abbey a Cora? It's ringing a recent bell.

greenzebra · 15/04/2011 19:31

like both names but prefer Cora, it is on our list too.
Its pretty but strong and also its the name of one of my film heroines from Last of the Mohicans.
Beautiful!

Hedwig3 · 14/04/2011 12:31

Cora is fab.

Coral is not, it's a yucky colour.

coco2901 · 14/04/2011 10:12

Ps don't like Coral at all, sorry!

coco2901 · 14/04/2011 10:11

I LOVE Cora, it was on my girls name short list for baby no 1 (due next week) but OH doesn't love it as much as I do :( If it helps the rest of the list was Freya, Nina and Orla...?

DancingThroughLife · 14/04/2011 09:55

Well if Phoebe can be so popular I don't see why Ursula can't! Grin

Sorry OP, please have your thread back.

UrsulaBuffay · 13/04/2011 23:17

Grin Me too with the friends-ness, and I do find that the name Ursula becomes more & more appealing as I post!

DancingThroughLife · 13/04/2011 23:15

I was going to say Coraline/Caroline too Ursula!

Btw, not in a stalker way, I keep seeing your name and it always makes me have a little giggle to myself thinking of the Ursula/Phoebe boyfriend mix up. Hopeless friendsaholic that I am Blush

UrsulaBuffay · 13/04/2011 23:08

There's Coraline too, like the movie but I always think people would say Caroline.

I was also going to suggest Cara too - imo much nicer than Cora.

MrsCampbellBlack · 13/04/2011 22:40

Cora is beautiful but then I also like Dora.

SolarPanel · 13/04/2011 22:39

Cara is pretty, prefer it to Cora.

Perhaps Coral could be the new Pearl, Amber and Ruby?

MelinaM · 13/04/2011 22:19

Cora is a beautiful name, very elegantSmile ...as for Coral, well it conjures up images of old dears and their knitting ...no offence intended! x

yousankmybattleship · 13/04/2011 22:15

I LOVE Cora - it was on our list for DD. Sorry, but I don't like Coral at all.

pootros · 13/04/2011 22:14

cadence ?

SolarPanel · 13/04/2011 22:12

Coral is lovely, very pretty. Also like Coralie.

Cora reminds me of apple cores.

latrucha · 13/04/2011 20:21

Love it.

UrsulaBuffay · 13/04/2011 20:20

Ooh Cora is lovely, I love Cordelia & it could be a good nn (notes down for future!)

MamaVoo · 13/04/2011 20:20

I think Coralie, with Cora as a nn, would be nicest.

DancingThroughLife · 13/04/2011 20:19

Cora was on our list for DD and it's the only one of our list that I would consider using again. I love it, it's beautiful.

I don't know if I'll ever get to use it though - when DD was born, she didn't look like a Cora. Use it for me! Smile
