We really like the name Josh/Joshua and it's about the only name that we both agree on. The trouble is that I immediately discounted it because I think it's too much of a mouthful when you say it with our surname. But what so you think - can we get away with it?? So our son would be called Joshua/Josh Wassall.
Your opinions are appreciated!!

it gives me mouth ache when i say joshua wassell and i end up changing it to washell. josh wassell is fine though.

Pancakeflipper · 04/04/2011 17:22

I have a teeny lisp and I cannot say Josh Wassell properly ( I alter your surname to Washell when I put both names together) but I can say Joshua Wassell nicely.

Agree Josh not Joshua. 90% will be shortened to Josh anyway.

Josh Wassall is nice but not Joshua Wassall because the 'ua' at the end of josh'ua' is clumsy when the next syllable is 'wa' as in 'Wa'ssal. It sounds too much like 'wawa'

SolarPanel · 04/04/2011 17:11

Personally I think it's too much of a mouthful, sorry.

Hassled · 04/04/2011 17:06

I think it's fine.
