6 letters and 9 letters

FleeBee · 02/04/2011 19:44

Can this be done?

My first 2 DC both have first names which are 6 letters long and middle names which are 9 letters long.

Can I continue the trend with DC3??

I already like Finlay which is six letters but stumped for ideas for everything else and need a boy and girl variation!

If nothing works I guess I'll have to start a new trend for DC3!

Ideas appreciated Thanks!

Wow fabulous names here! I love the link I can review my 6 & 9 letter names for ages.

I already do have a Phoebe, so I've ruled that one out.

Will speak to DH about Audrey Francesca!

Thanks for all your input, you've been great to humour my strange request!

My daughters name works with your 6 & 9 trend.
Her name is Saskia Charlotte - although the 9 letter name obviously only has two syllabuls.

There are many 9 letter names so it is definitely possible!

Well, mine are scarred for life, just counted them up

DD1 5 5
DS1 3 5 6
DS2 5 5

Can't decide if dc1 and dc3 will hate dc2 for having an extra name, or if dc2 will be ostracised by the others for his lack of 5 5 formation. Either way, I sure have buggered this naming thing up Grin

surelynotnormal · 02/04/2011 22:56

Just realised I have a freaky el motif going on in all of their names too.

Oh, if we'd had a DS he would have been Joseph Smile

FleeBee the pregnancy hormones are out of control. DC3 will not be left out, it will never, ever occur to them to wonder why they have a different number of letters in their name, I promise Grin

Breathe and choose a name you love otherwise you'll have to explain to DC3 that you 'chose' their name from a v short shortlist purely because it had to have the right number of letters.

harbingerofdoom · 02/04/2011 22:29

Althea or Monica ?

FleeBee · 02/04/2011 22:23

Yes, you're right it's bonkers to to match siblings by the number of letters in their names. It all got out of hand after DC2, and now I don't want the third to feel left out.

This all makes me sound slightly barking, but perhaps it can be done given all the suggestions so far!

Isn't it a bit.....erm....unusual to choose your dc name by the number of letters and/or to want to match them with their siblings? Do the current 6 and 9 have the same number of syllables too as this might be more significant?

peggotty · 02/04/2011 21:59

Willlow for girl?

FleeBee · 02/04/2011 21:57

Some interesting six letter names, perhaps it can be done.

I think I know about 10 friends called Claire. Makes my address book quite tricky, so I'll skip Claire. I do know a Claire Elizabeth too!

Never heard Zinnia before! Isabel is quite popular amongst children I know. Will have another think about it.

So have possible Girl six letters:
Saskia
Sophia
Eloise
Zinnia

Nine letters:
Francesca
Elizabeth
Katherine
Josephine

Boy six letters:
Finlay (any others?)

Boy Nine letters:
Frederick
Sebastian
