Little used but 'known' names....

I am trying to think of names (boy or girl) which are not much used but are still names that people are familiar with.

I don't mean names that were popular in the 1970s and for that reason they aren't used now, but names like Lois or Elijah which everyone has heard of but which haven't reached saturation point. Or at least not where I live!

What names do you know that are surprisingly underused?

You will find loads and loads of lovely underused names on the ONS Statistics website when you look at the list of ALL baby names given in a year. Once you look beyond the top 100 or even top 250 you'll find lots of inspiration Smile.

I haven't got the link to hand, but I'm sure someone has got it.

My two favourite 'real' names that I have never met anybody called are Thaddeus and Yolande.

Otherwise:

Boys' - Bartholomew / Philip / Terence / Timothy / David / Gregory

Girls' - Vivienne / Christabel / Melissa / Miranda /
