Good dog's name.

JanMorrow · 28/03/2011 15:05

First thought- Party of Five
Second thought - mmm baileys
Third thought - no

mamatomany · 28/03/2011 15:10

Awful unless poured over Ice, at best it's a girls name.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 28/03/2011 15:16

I know two - both boys aged 12-ish or thereabouts. They seem like nice enough lads.

It's not a name I'd choose but I don't dislike it by any means.

Call me political correctness gawn mad, but "suitable only for a dog or someone who lives in a caravan"? Really?!?? Shock

awful chavvy name for a child but beautiful for a suitably coloured animal

BelligerentGhoul · 28/03/2011 21:10

Not good - but even worse for a girl than a boy. Stupid name for a girl; just not a nice name for a boy.

IQuiteLikeVodka · 28/03/2011 21:11

I don't like it for a person's name,sorry

Pancakeflipper · 28/03/2011 21:11

No. It's a doggie name or a surname.
But I don't like words beginning with B except bottom.

emeraldislander · 28/03/2011 21:14

I taught a horror with that name. ruined it for me.

Greenwing · 28/03/2011 23:04

The Old Bailey law court
Motte and Bailey castle

Don't like it as a first name - just personal preference because I don't like surname-first names much.

lollystix · 28/03/2011 23:07

We have friends overseas who just called their daughter Bailey - still find it weird- it seems quite masculine to me.

higgle · 28/03/2011 23:08

Definately a dog's name- I know one too ( Collie/lab cross)

exoticfruits · 28/03/2011 23:09

I agree-great for a dog.

Florin · 28/03/2011 23:16

One of the most chavvy names I can think of. One of our rescue ragdoll cats was called it when we got it. We changed it straight away and weare to embarrassed to admit it to anyone that Bailey was the cats previous name!

MamaLazarou · 29/03/2011 10:42

I like it a lot - it reminds me of Maya Angelou's brother in her books (although he wasn't the most repectable of types to be frank).

cumbria81 · 29/03/2011 13:52

it's a) chavvy b) American c) a drink and d) the name of my friend's cat.

So for that reason, I'm out.

LouMacca · 29/03/2011 14:13

as above except for d). It's awful. Sorry.

mrsSOAK · 29/03/2011 15:57

there is the most beautiful brown and white collie in our neighbourhood called bailey.

pranma · 29/03/2011 15:58

I agree with cumbria and Loumacca

IngridBergmann · 29/03/2011 20:40

Sorry, I don't like it - it's just not an attractive sound. Plus I suspect a lot of people have used it because it sounds a bit like Kayley and Hayley and they already like those names.

It's like a collection of (two) sounds, rather than having any basis in meaning, any beauty, any depth.

You don't need to be able to spell either to use it.
I'm sure you can spell, no offence, loads of people use it in good faith for reasons other than those.

I just don't like it.

usualsuspect · 29/03/2011 20:42

I like it
