I love Harvey but have a Harry.
Would be afraid of a Richard getting shortened to Dick meaning I would have a Tom, Dick and Harry!

What can't you use?

I live the names Nina, Norri, and Naomi. But I already have a Noah.

I love Lucia as well but already have a Luke.

Love the name Eliza as well but my DDs middle name is Elizabeth

Next one will be Anna Violet

MerylStrop · 24/03/2011 18:02

My mum suggested Polly (which I love, btw) for DD, forgetting we already had an Ollie. I liked Annie, but with an Oliver and Maria already in the family it was all getting a bit musical theatre.

Kaekae · 24/03/2011 17:59

Think I've said this a few times on here, but I so wanted Florence for DD, sadly it rhymes with our surname so we couldn't use it. Loved Eliza too but one of DDs middle names is Elizabeth so didn't feel right. (Gone off Eliza a bit now thankfully). I know someone who has an Oliver (Olly) and she's just called her new baby girl Molly!! Hmm

can't have an ella as we have a sam!

mybootsaremuddy · 24/03/2011 09:31

*Zavier is actualy spelt Xavier but i used the Z here to emphasise the sound with Zeke!

mybootsaremuddy · 24/03/2011 09:27

I love Elijah but have an Elizabeth nn Eliza
Love Ezekiel nn Zeke but it sounds too 'z-zee' with Eliza and Zavier
dh likes Vinnie but as we call Zavier Vee it would sound rediculous

brightcopperkettles · 24/03/2011 01:55

I love Saskia but already have a Sasha and too similar to my ears.

I also love Emma if the bump is a girl but my sister (that I see several times a week) has a toddler Emily and I (perhaps irrationally) feel like I'd be cheating the bump out of a name that's unique to it iyswim.

Couldn't have a Maisie, as I have a Daisy. Wouldn't use any other flower names either, as it might sound a bit silly. Also can't have a William, as my surname rhymes with one of the popular shortenings of the name. I love the name Catherine but can't decide whether I could use it or not as it is such a family name, almost every girl in my family (apart from my DD) has it somewhere in their name. (I have it as a middle name.)

Josephine and Rosemary. We already have a Johanna and Mary and they don't fit those other names, but still wistful I can never use them....

chipmonkey · 23/03/2011 21:26

I actually like Hazel and Holly.........

randomimposter · 23/03/2011 21:22

leplan I know someone with a Florence who is 3 weeks away from #2 and contemplating seriously Frederick...

ilovedjasondonovan · 23/03/2011 21:21

I have a hazel, wanted a holly as well but thought better of it.

orangehead · 23/03/2011 21:18

I have just discovered the name Ephram and love it, but cant have it as ds is Ethan, too similar

McDreamy · 23/03/2011 21:15

I wanted to call DD2 Evie but DD1's initials are E.V. so decided against it!

leplan · 23/03/2011 21:14

I have a Fred, which kind of scuppered Florence for a girl (unless Tesco agreed to sponsor them)

Holly because i have an Oliver which gets shortened to Ollie (not by me though!). Holly and Ollie don't go well. Used it as a middle name for DD1 instead!

Also love Xavier but have a Zach and a Xantia!
