It's scottish, I'm sure; I love it - but what do you think?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I'm Scottish too and I love the name Brodie - but for a boy, not a girl. It was one of the names I always thought I might use, but then DH's nephew's partner called her DD Brodie and he said it would offend his sister if we used it for our DS - grrrrr. DD has 2 Brodies (both boys) in her year.

Meaning is here I think I prefer to think of Brodie Castle though Grin

Carrotsandcelery · 23/03/2011 14:35

I like Brodie. I have taught a Brodie as well but it was a boy. I am Scottish though if that matters in any way. Have you looked up its meaning and things like that?

smother · 23/03/2011 14:33

Ooh no! What about Jody instead?

pod3030 · 23/03/2011 14:33

love it, but it's a boy's name

LetThereBeRock · 23/03/2011 14:30

And I'd assume that a Brodie would be a boy.

MaterTheGreater · 23/03/2011 14:30

Like it

Ummm.. Not sure!

Would you put 'Brodie' on the birth certificate.

I suspect that when you know a brodie & associate the name with a particular child/adult it would seem lovely if that makes any sense!

thumbwitch · 23/03/2011 14:28

If you're not Scottish, I'd think twice about it. I was going to say I prefer Bridie for a girl but I think that's an Irish diminuitive for Bridget.
Perhaps if you spelt it Brody it wouldn't look quite so Scottish?

LetThereBeRock · 23/03/2011 14:28

A definite no.It's horrid.

TheFantasticFixit · 23/03/2011 14:26

I should perhaps mention that I, nor my fiance are Scottish - we live in London! Blush
