Boys names help

Hello, just looking to see if anyone has anymore ideas for boys names. His middle name will be either Ernie/Ernest depending on how it flows with first name and is after my grandad and the surname will be Holland.

Have so far
Charlie
Oscar
Harry - can't decide if it goes though

I like traditional names but can't think of anymore and whilst i like all 3 i can't find a name i love.

Can't have Jack as he's my nephew. Cheers for any ideas :)

I had a guinea pig called Jasper so that's a no go and George just doesn't do anything for me. Bump only kicks when i say the names Charlie and Leo and he kicks everytime i say them, but none of the others. Could all obv be a coincidence but least it's down to 2.

I like all your names, but don't think any of them go with Ernie. Definitely stick with Ernest.

I love the name Harry and also think Leo is quite cool but I have associations with those names! Its so annoying how a perfectly lovely name can be ruined by some wanker you knew at school! Or your parents dog!

Charlie, Oscar and harry are all lovely names. Yes they are popular but that is because they are nice. I have a William and named him that knowing that it was a popular name, but also a name that I loved.

Moodykat, Charlie is a seriously cool name! It's not going to date, it's been around for years and years and suits it's all ages! My little Charlie is 6 and a complete dude! X

I know that's the problem, i want a name that's cute enough for him as a baby/child but then will get taken seriously as an adult. With a massive family that's dominated by males it makes it even harder as I'd prefer to have a name that no one else has in the family. I wouldn't really want a variation of John just becuase of how confusing things will be with my dad, bro and my exs bro all being called it. Thanks for the ideas though

Adam, Luke, Edward, William, Dominic, Isaac, Aidan, Christopher....
Imagine them at 10, 20, 30, 50yrs etc with a name and it might influence your opinion.

Leo is quite nice.

I love Harry but i am bias as have one and not sure it goes that great with Ernest , think Oscar sounds the best with Ernest

Yeah i do like James and It's really growing on me day by day, so i guess I'll just wait and see. I've been thinking and also like Leo (my dads middle name is Leonard so it would be nice). So opinions on Leo? My dad's first name is John, but my bro is called John and nephew Jack so those are out.

Yeah i liked Fred but one of my friends has just had a little one called Fred, so i don't want to seem to be copying. Also can't have Nick, Alex or Ben or Jonathan as theyre in my ex's family who's a waste of space so dont want to be reminded of them. I just find boys names really difficult as there are quite a few girls names i love and just wish i could find an equivalent. Thanks for the comments/ideas though :)

Too popular and trendy for me personally and I agree that all the cutesy -ie type names will date badly, especially Alfie, Charlie, Archie ...

Oscar is ok but I'm not keen on the nickname Os/Ossie or Ozzie. Also know a few dogs names Oscar.

I really dislike Charlie. It's in the same pile as Alfie. It will date badly.

Oscar is the only name I like here. Harry is OK but would prefer Henry.

I agree - these names are very 'trendy' and I would go for a nice traditional but less overused one. I think we will soon tire of cutesy type -ie names (Alfie, Charlie, Archie, Harry etc).

Charlie - never been a fan of this name, too cutesy maybe?
Oscar - this is my favourite of the three
Harry - OK but not sure if works with your last name terribly well.

It's fine to not like the popular names and i wouldn't be fussed if other people didn't like the name i picked. I just don't seem to like the more unusual names and when reading these kind of forums i often think wtf would you call a kid that for? It's all just down to personal choice and i'm greatful for the responses. I do like Toby but not too keen on Tobias but i could just use the nn instead.
