Sorry but a definite no.

spidookly · 20/03/2011 01:28

Unless you have an Italian background the name is Arthur.

Or if you are naming your cat Arturo Catti (love)

I don't know about all this vampire faff.

Clary · 20/03/2011 00:52

Wot Seeker said.

Arthur is a fine fine name Grin

StableButDeluded · 19/03/2011 20:16

Like it, but would always make me think of that Goldie Hawn film 'Overboard' where she calls Kurt Russell 'Arturo!' and he refers to her as 'Caterina!' as a reference to a mythological pair of doomed lovers who drowned trying to swim to each other.

Was a comedy, by the way!

squeak2392 · 19/03/2011 19:47

I like it.
Not sure how it would work, but immediately, I like it.
Still much prefer Arthur though.

SlainteBooyFeckingHoo · 14/03/2011 19:25

i like it. i had a customer in my last job called arturo. he was lovely. i may be biased Wink

seeker · 14/03/2011 19:22

Are you Italian? If so fine. If not, not.

alexaj · 14/03/2011 19:20

Sounds a bit pretentious. Dislike.

shareastory · 14/03/2011 14:59

i like it and shortened to art is good too...if you like it have it....

weimy · 12/03/2011 22:15

Fine if you are italian. Which we are so find judgements on it being poncy/wanky offensive.

ValiumSingleton · 12/03/2011 21:46

it's a bit..... contrabandista sounding to my ear. but obviously if you're spanish then muy bien.

mathanxiety · 12/03/2011 19:01

Prefer the Polish Artur.

I would think Toscanini and not boxer. I would also think it was a bit odd if you weren't Italian.

pointydog · 12/03/2011 18:37

Ui

TheFallenMadonna · 12/03/2011 18:23

Honestly? It's a bit Trying Too Hard. It makes me think of someone with artistic leanings changing their name to be less conventional.

That should say "Er honestly?" My typing is dreadful.

Underachieving · 12/03/2011 17:57

Er honestyle? It's a vampire name, would make me think the parents should be avoided and the boy should be nicknamed as soon as possible.

Its a vampire name.

Onion1968 · 12/03/2011 17:01

it's horrible

niccibabe · 12/03/2011 01:01

Read 'Geek Love' before deciding. It's a very common book for 'A' Level and 1st year uni. Some people will assume you are referencing the book...which would be a very weird thing to do.

cowboylover · 11/03/2011 22:35

No I didnt it was just as he paws everything when on his back legs and we are both big boxing fans and didnt want a Calzage! LOL! I am even more impressed now Smile

Zaft · 11/03/2011 22:16

I think it's nice. Cowboy, did you know that gatti means cats in Italian?
