What do you think of Araminta?

What do you think of Araminta as a girl's name?

And do you think it sits well with sibling Isobel?

It's lovely.
My favourite girl's name, actually, but dh wouldn't entertain it for dd.
Wish I had used it now. Hope you're brave enough to choose it Smile

Tamara Mellon's daughter is a Araminta and I think she is called Minty - I don't dislike it and I think it goes quite well with Isobel. But it might be a little pretentious Smile

I think they both sound super dumb unless, well, you're the type of person who would use such a name and, if you're not, well, you're not.

Sorry - the only Minty I know is a lazy pothead with an overdeveloped sense of entitlement.

(People who teach have problems with some names for rather specific reasons Grin)

Unfortunately you have no control over their name once they get to about 5yrs and Isobel will only remain Isobel if she wants to and she may prefer Izzy or, as one 11yr old I know, Is.

I like Minty, but we'd try not to shorten it at all, as we do with Isobel's name.

I like it but prefer Aramita (if that is a name?) as got the same sound but without the Minty element
