Maeve, Margot or Moira

I'm strongly leaning towards one but i cant seem to let the others go. theyre too similar to use one for a future child (I think)so i want to make sure its the right one1. any thoughts...

Maeve is a beautiful name, IMO.

Margot is nice and I think ripe for resurgence, but for anyone of a certain age, it will conjure up one Mrs Leadbetter.

Moira - really, really no. Grin

Moira and Margot were my personnal choices for DD, both vetoed by DH.
[I am foreign too, and don't have the same connotations associated to names as DH]

I don't know Argyle why some old fashioned names are now cool and some are not, but I generally don't like it as a trend. Who wants to be a young guy named Stanley/Wilfred? Confused

But that's just me, I am sure I'll be outnumbered very shortly! Smile

ha, ok fair enough. I'm foreign so I dont have the same 'old lady' connotations that i guess you do here. I just liked the way they sounded. this is not a criticism.. but it seems like 90% of the names mentioned on here are really really old fashioned, and I guess I wonder why some of them are now trendy and others are still considered old lady.

Niece is a Maura, Molly as nn. I don't warm to any of the, tbh.

Don't like any of them, sorry. Margot is ripe for a lifetime of mis-spelling and mis-pronunciation, Moira I don't like the sound it makes (personal I admit). Maeva is the best but again - see Margot.

Um...I'm not that keen on any of them, sorry, they all seem a bit like names for a woman in her 60s who wears Scholl sandals and floral dresses. Or something.

But, the one I dislike the least is Maeve, if I had to choose.
