Why are K names considered "chav"?

Why are K names considered "chav"? I do not understand one bit!

Hmm..I'm beginning to think I won't ever be able to decide on a name for my baby girl by July! Ha ha not too set on a K name, but I was thinking Kira for quite a while. I am very picky about names and there's only been a few that have caught my attention, most sound so boring and unappealing to me. I definitely know when I like a name because most don't raise any interest in me. I'm still quite undecided in general!

Suppose some people would say Katherine is a mispelling for Catherine. I wouldn't agree Wink.

Can't explain why but I find K chav aswell. Particularly Kieran in its various forms, Kirsty and Kayleigh. Katie is ok though. Just about.

What about Khadijah? Krishnan?

I agree with Claire becoming Klaire, etc, but the catch-all rule of K always being chavvy is rather eurocentric I feel.

I think it's when a K has been substituted for a C. In the manner of hairdressers, e.g. Korner Kutz

K names are chav when they are misspellings of c names.

Eg khloe, katrina, klare

Kayleigh is tho'.

Maybe it's because of all the Kardishan sisters? They're giving K names a bad rep.

I blame Kathleen Turner, Katherine Hepburn, and Kirtsys Young and Allsopp. All unashamed chavs.
