What do you think of Vesper as a girl's name? It's listed on Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder.

Is it quite cool? We like the spiritual connection (evening prayers time). But obv not the scooter it might be mistaken for......

Nope. For all the reasons listed above

ashesandfire · 02/11/2015 21:43

It sounds waspy. And I didn't even know it meant wasp in Italian!
On the other hand it DOES remind me of Eva Green.

Junosmum · 02/11/2015 20:09

I think James bond, but that's not a bad thing. It does mean wasp though.

Cliffdiver · 02/11/2015 17:21

I really don't like it, sorry.

BikeRunSki · 02/11/2015 10:49

Bond Girl

Crazypetlady · 02/11/2015 10:46

Sorry O.p but I laughed, never a good sign!

Scarletforya · 02/11/2015 10:08

It's awful.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 02/11/2015 10:07

Oh didn't realize this was a zombie thread.
Little Vesper would be about 4 years old now

LeotardoDaVinci · 02/11/2015 10:02

And also pantliners from the 80s

Ditto

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 02/11/2015 10:02

Scooter/Wasp/Bond Girl were the immediate thoughts.

This thread is uber old, though, the baby is probably named by now!

Havalina1 · 02/11/2015 10:00

Uncle Fester.

VulcanWoman · 02/11/2015 03:30

I thought it was one of those electronic cigarettes.

reuset · 02/11/2015 03:03

Scooters too.

reuset · 02/11/2015 03:02

Great name if you live in a monastery

Latin for evening. Also sounds like Vespa, Latin for wasp. Both, I was taught, back in the day, were pronounced with a 'w' sound, but as we're not in ancient Rome...

Ridiculous name by the way, zombie thread or not. Wags finger Grin

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 01/11/2015 23:52

I quite like the sound of it. It's certainly very edgy. But it sounds like a face cream.

TurquoiseDress · 01/11/2015 23:42

Ooops just realised this thread is over 4 years old!

TurquoiseDress · 01/11/2015 23:41

I met a woman the other day whose 2 year old daughter is called Vesper...I think she was inspired by the James Bond film!

If I ever have a daughter I'll be trying to convince the OH to call her Vesper, really love this unusual name.

highlandbird · 05/03/2011 10:36

first thing that sprung to mind was the scooter, sorry!!

fifi25 · 05/03/2011 10:16

scooter

TotalChaos · 05/03/2011 09:47

How about Hester?

BendyBob · 05/03/2011 09:41

It's awfully close to Fester (as in Uncle..)

Onion1968 · 05/03/2011 09:32

:o haha Fake, you are so right! Also LadyBoudica summed it up - hard, spikey name.

FakePlasticTrees · 05/03/2011 08:01

I'm thinking scooter too - also you'll have people wondering if you've done that thing of naming your child after the place they were concieved and trying to work out if they can ask you how you managed to shag on a scooter...

Swarski · 05/03/2011 08:00

Definitely a scooter to me. But a cool scooter..

neighbourhoodwitch · 05/03/2011 07:49
