Worst spelling of perfectly ordinary names? Elyviya anyone?

I have met a Danyal, Daniol, Naiphthan, Caytie and an Alivia. Why do people consign their children to a life time of 'no, that's Daniel spelt...'? Any equally terrible ones out there?

Sooo many! But mostly in/from Utah. Alyce, Ayebraham, Cayleb, Alycsaundra, Elcee, Kellee, Flavious, Hyrum, Raychelle... But I think it's actually a cultural/traditional thing for some people in utah.

The Arabic spelling of Daniel will be in Arabic letters.

Danyal is a transliteration into the Roman alphabet of the Arabic pronunciation.

Once again Danyal is the Arabic spelling of the name Daniel. Neither are right or wrong.

How on Earth do you get 'Ary-ella' from Aryllya?

The last two syllables would be 'Lee-ya' (or 'Clee-ya' if you're Welsh), surely????

You do seem obsessive about their names if you trawl through to find all these ancient threads.
Another zombie thread this one only one and a half years old.
They can at least have the option of changing when older.

My children have unusual names... I have an Mjay (m-j), Aeyn (a-ein), Aryllya (ary-ella) and than of course my baby Rhyun (ryan). We always know what kids there yelling "at lmfao

Oh dear jelly - that poor child is going to have to suffer a lifetime of being called 'channel' every time her name is read out. You'd think instead of getting uppity over it the mother would realise she's been an idiot and change the spelling asap before the poor child gets too used to writing her own name in such a ridiculous way.

Oh crikey this is hilarious!

I know a Lilli-Mai (which probably isn't as bad as some on here, but it's otherwise an OK name so why ruin it?!)

Also, surely Mai is pronounced 'my' rather than 'May' so it just sounds like you're saying It with a Brummie accent Confused

In work I called twins names out to collect something ...... Sky and Channel! The mum said really nastily 'it's Chanel! Definitely spelt channel!
