So, DH and I just found out that we are having a girl after two boys. I'm in total shock as I though this was another boy. At least it means I can cross out half the huge name list. :)

So I'm wondering what these names say to you.

Elliot
Darcy
Scarlett
Madison
Phoebe
Aurora
Matilda
Elise
Xanthe
Trinity

Some are Dh's choice, some are mine. I would also like to know of anything that is massively popular. We live quite rurally so don't know loads of children.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Elliot - boy's name (particularly from ET).
Darcy - Mmmmmm Colin Firth - or Prima Ballerina!
Scarlett - lovely, but Scarlett Johansson has made it v popular
Madison - Daryl Hannah in Splash
Phoebe - Still has a slight 'Friends' aura, but lovely Smile
Aurora - Disney Princess, but a great one (I still think she looked better in blue)
Matilda - Roald Dahl, highly underrated IMO
Elise - Very pretty
Xanthe - Even prettier Smile
Trinity - Matrix. If she got her ears pierced she'd be holey Trinity Grin

Aurora - Sleeping Beauty
Matilda - So many Tillys...
Elise - Really like it
Xanthe - Beautiful
Trinity - I'm part of the Matrix generation; I just see Carrie-Ann Moss in skin-tight leather.

BelligerentGhoul · 17/02/2011 19:02

I like Darcy (most people on here don't). Matilda is nice and Elise is lovely. Really dislike Madison, Elliot and Trinity, sorry.

Aurora means Dawn and is nothing to do with Disney really - I do quite like Dawn.

Elliot says boy.

Scarlett, Aurora, and Matilda are lovely
Darcy, Phoebe, Elise and Xanthe are OK
I don't like Madison
I do like Trinity, but you need to be careful that it combines well with your surname (Trinity Street for example would say place, not person)

Eglu · 17/02/2011 19:00

Thank you. Interesting that you said Aurora was sleeping beauty. Not having girls I don't know the disney princess names Grin

I did think Phoebe might be popular, it isn't where we live, but that may not be where my child ends up living as an adult.

Matilda - love it
Elise - quite pretty
Xanthe - not keen
