My sister is expecting a girl in March, and so far this is her shortlist. Possible middle name of Sarah or any combination of the above

Opinions please

Now I'm worried that Josephine is going to become super popular - when I was first on MN everyone hated it whenever it was mentioned Grin

mathanxiety · 18/02/2011 16:30

Josephine and Beatrice, both with Rose or Rosalind as a mn.

I love Anna too. Anna Rosalind is lovely. Anna Rose is a little like the name of a boat.

Suggest Elizabeth as a mn that would go with all three?

Violethill · 18/02/2011 15:29

Josephine by a mile.

Beatrice is quite nice, but has become very popular.

Don't like Rosa (though Rose is fine)

Flora = spreads easily

Whelk · 18/02/2011 13:04

Anna is gorgeous.

That or Rosa.
I love simple elegant names that don't look too try-hard

flopsy1974 · 18/02/2011 12:05

Sorry to upset you Knitpicker my sister really loves the name Flora but was genuinely concerned about comments from other people.

Josephine Sarah for me too, don't like Rosa and Flora at all! x

OliveMalay · 17/02/2011 17:56

Josephine Sarah is very nice.

I like Beatrice and Rosa but they don't flow as well (the "s" sounds are too close to the S of Sarah).

Like Anna too, and Anna Sarah is fine although I think Josephine Sarah flows especially well :)

knitpicker · 17/02/2011 17:33

SO upset that Flora was discounted - it's my daughter's name!

flopsy1974 · 17/02/2011 16:36

Ok so Flora has been discounted thanks to the spreadinfg easily comments. Very open to bullying as a teenager I would say. Anna has now been thrown into the hat by her DH.

I prefer Florence to Flora, shortened to Flo or Flossie.

Hedwig3 · 17/02/2011 11:44

Rosa is simply gorgeous!

pilates · 17/02/2011 11:21

I like Rosa Beatrice.

Whelk · 16/02/2011 20:28

Rosa - love it
josephine - ok
beatrice - vile
flora - no

kalo12 · 16/02/2011 20:20

activate · 16/02/2011 20:18

Flora

Rhubarbgarden · 16/02/2011 20:17

All beautiful except Beatrice. I think my favourite is Flora but it's a close call.

said · 16/02/2011 19:54

I think Rosa is gorgeous, really lovely

zozzle · 16/02/2011 19:43

Don't like Beatrice - too public school for my liking. Flora is ok.

Love Rosa and Josephine.

Takver · 16/02/2011 19:43

We have a Josephine - has lots of options on nnames which was a positive for us - Josie, Jo, Posy, Feenie (tho have never heard it shortened to Fifi!).

BettyDouglas · 16/02/2011 19:38

I have know Josephines use, Jo, Josie, Jossie and Joss. All nice.
I do like Beatrice though.

washngo · 16/02/2011 19:27

I have two nieces called flora and beatrice, so I love those but I'm biased! I do absolutely love the name rosa too though. Not at all keen on Josephine.

pointydog · 16/02/2011 19:10

Rosa is lovely

exoticfruits · 16/02/2011 18:55

Fifi?!!! Jo or Josie are both lovely. You can try Fifi, but I bet the DD puts a stop to it as soon as she is able!

BettyDouglas · 16/02/2011 17:20

Sorry but to me, Fifi is a poodles name.

mamma2boyz · 16/02/2011 17:16

You can use Fifi as a nickname for Josephine..bit more exciting than Jo
Personally I love Flora and Rosa
