Yesterday I suddenly had the name India come into my head if I ever have a girl. (we are TTC)

I casually mentioned it to partner who said Yes immediately which is unlike him.

He even put the middle name of jasmine which I was thinking with it unprompted.

So mumsnet jury what do you think?

Thanks everyone. Not sure on the nicknames or transference into adulthood.

Lovely. I would prefer it on a little girl with dark hair but that's just my opinion.

I like it. There's an India in DDs class.

Lovely - although the India I know is 14 and always called Ind or Indie

Beautiful.

I think it's very pretty.

Yes if she was conceived or born there or you have family ties to the country. Otherwise no.
I had the bonkers idea of calling my DD either Oman or Muscat. Luckily I didn't.

I think it´s lovely.
