Nikita, Mischa or something else?

Opinions and ideas welcome! Just can't settle on a name. We've decided we want something either German or Russian (family connections) but that is pronouncable in the UK.

Also, there's a slim chance that our baby girl might end up being a baby boy, so ideas for this scenario are also gratefully received!

Surname is 2 syllables and is obviously German.

Thank you!

We know a 13 yo girl named Myshka. Mum has a thing about Polish films. It's unusual but nice.

The Mischa's I have heard of recently have been girls (two).

I thought it was a girl's name. But I am a philistine in such matters and prior to these babies had only heard it used by Mischa Barton.

Not keen on Nikita and though Mischa was a boys name. Did you mean Meika?

Saskia?

SameOldJollster · 12/02/2011 09:52

The only Mischa I knew was a boy.

I don't think you need a second list.

To me, these are both boys' names (pet forms of Mikhail and Nikolai).

Are they unisex in UK these days?

I'm not sure how Mischa is pronounced, is it Mee-scha or Mish-a? I think others might be confused by it too.

Nikita is nice.
