Found out i'm having a baby girl, and I really really like the name Poppy! But DP doesn't like it that much (he has yet to be persuaded) so far he has agreed to Poppy as a middle name so i'm almost there!

So i'd like to hear any suggestions of names that go with Poppy, either as a first name or a middle name. so Poppy Bayton, or __ Poppy Bayton. Any helpful suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

oh and not too long/easy to spell. DP doesn't want to be embarrassed by not being able to spell his own daughters name :o

haha love it! He's also just decided he would like her middle name to start with a J, because my middle name is Jane, and his is James. so he wants us all to have the same last 2 initials as JB lol. I think I might almost be there with Poppy :o

If he has his doubts about Poppy, what about calling her Penelope and then just call her Poppy as a nn.. don't tell him that this is your plan . mwa ha ha ha [the count]

let it evolve naturally Wink

I have a Poppy Emma and (obviously) agree that a traditional middle name sounds lovely.

There was another thread a while ago asking the same thing

I have a Poppy Sarah, Sarah after my grandmother, and also because I wanted a traditional name to go with Poppy.

QuestionNumber · 11/02/2011 10:51

Poppy Isobel (with only one l) would be very nice :)

Melly19MummyToBe · 11/02/2011 10:43

hmmmm Scarlett Poppy? Really? I'd feel really bad if she turned out ginger, not that I have anything against gingers, but a name like Scarlett Poppy matched with that particular hair color would probably lead to some serious bullying.

They are all lovely names apart from maybe Pop 'n' Fresh :) I quite like Poppy Isobell, what do you think?

I have a Poppy - she's a cat Wink We got her on Remembrance Day. She gets call Pops, PopTart, PopCorn, Pop'n'Fresh & PopsieDoo. Hmm

I think it goes well with her brother's name - Sherlock (Holmes).

On a more serious note, I agree with growing3rdbump Poppy needs to be partnered with a more traditional name:

Poppy Katherine Bayton
Poppy Rebecca Bayton
Poppy Elizabeth Bayton

QuestionNumber · 10/02/2011 23:56

Poppy Serena Bayton
Poppy Juliet Bayton

Louisa Poppy Bayton
