Hugh Lee?

Lee is our surname. Does the combination of Hugh and Lee sound like a chinese takeway dish (as my MIL rudely suggested!) I know longer first names would be better but most boys names I like a short, one syllable. (Hugo has been vetoed by DH so this is not a viable alternative).

Sorry I don't like it, it just doesn't sound right when you say the names together, I'd have a rethink personally :)

I agree with sonnniebonnie, a 2/3 syllable name sounds better with Lee

belgo · 10/02/2011 14:12

I don't usually suggest this, but can you not give him a double barrelled surname, with your maiden name? Hugh would sound much better with another surname before the Lee.

sorry about the last e...

No, not good!

With Lee, I'd suggest a two syllable name ending in a consonant, for example:

Quentin Lee
Thomas Lee
Felix Lee
Marcus Leee

Agree, Hugo Lee is better. Not Hugh.

LadySanders · 10/02/2011 14:11

hugo lee is MUCH better, she says, unhelpfully

LawrieMarlow · 10/02/2011 14:10

Sounds odd.

CharlieBoo · 10/02/2011 14:09

TallulahDoesTheHula · 10/02/2011 14:08

Hedwig3 · 10/02/2011 14:07
