do you think of the song 'who the *£!& is alice' or is that just me?

Alice seems to be the only name DH and I agree on at the minute (and LO due any day soon). Alice in Wonderland connotations I can take; who the bleep is alice I can't Shock

I think Alice is really nice but wonder if Twilight will make it more popular?

vintageteacups · 09/02/2011 16:32

Oh no - didn't mean unoriginal/overpopular - just that people are going for more ttraditional, english rose type names again and that people still choose it because it's a pretty name.

Go for it!

Once you think of that song (that version, or the original without the swearing), it sticks.

I thought "Alice Cooper"' and "A Town Like Alice" (which led to another ear worm of "A Town Like Malice", and Alice Springs.

Damn! Because if you hadn't asked, I don't think I'd have spontaneously thought any of them, as it's a lovely name, and none occurred to me icw the 7yr old Alice who lives (nearly) next door.

I thought you were going to say 'in wonderland/looking glass'. To which I'd have answered, only vaguely.

I wouldn't have thought of that song at all if you hadn't of said it.
Might have come up with alice bands and alice cooper for things 'alice' makes me thing of. But not that song especially...

I have a cousin called alice, and I don't get visions of any of those things when I think of her.
It's a very nice name imo.

I thought of Alice in Wonderland but I've never heard of the song.

slowangels1 · 09/02/2011 16:25

is it really popular vintage? Oh no. We've tried so hard to pick one on purpose that isn't popular. I know it's well known as a name but I thought the stats for it wern't too bad popularity wise. Maybe we'll have to rethink AGAIN Hmm

Nope - my niece is an Alice and once the baby is born, I'm sure nobody would every say anything to do with the song.

It's a lovely name and very popular.

AllieW · 09/02/2011 16:23

Not really. I also think that's a generational thing. It's a pretty name and you would end up just associating it with your DD.
