WHat do you think of Jane and Jean? Not together of course, one or the other!
Which fits better with Amos, Pearl, Iris and Eli?
Haven't run them past dh, but never mind about that at the moment Grin I do already know he loves Jean though (but he prefers Augusta, Mary and Shirley) . He never suggests anything except mad Hebrew names that just won't work, so he has to choose from my lists Grin

I have never taught a Jane (or a Jean come to that).

I think it is a great name but couldn't use it myslef for family reasons.

My friend has a Jeanie, and it is lovely, as is she.

I like Joan too.

Barbara is growing on me at the moment.

tummytickler · 11/02/2011 22:07

Ann I really like Fleur a lot, thanks.
Rhubarb I like Gina too, but feel it is a nn, and I do not like Georgina.
JamieLC Joy is beautiful, but it reminds dh of the woman from My Name is Earl Hmm so it is a no no!
Thanks all.

I really like Jane

AnnOnimous · 11/02/2011 20:08

I think Fleur goes beautifully with your girls names

pilates · 11/02/2011 18:55

Def Jane, Jean is also my MIL, so it makes me think of an old woman (who is nice too).

Merlion · 11/02/2011 04:27

Jean is my MIL's name so would probably say no - lovely though she is Wink

Jane is my SIL's name and also my middle name (although mine has a 'y' in it - Jayne) so I have to say I prefer that.

LetThereBeRock · 10/02/2011 19:16

Jane is nicer. Jean is dreadful.

Rhubarbgarden · 10/02/2011 18:10

Jane is beautiful.

How about Gina as another possible variation?

daimbardiva · 09/02/2011 20:55

Love Jean/Jeannie - it's a big family name for us though, so has lots of nice connotations for me. Jane just sounds plain.

5DollarShake · 09/02/2011 12:40

Jane, Jean, June and Joan are all on the up. Get in first before they kick off!! Grin

My middle name is Jeanne after my grandmother. Another possibility.

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 08/02/2011 18:23

Jane.

Or Mary :)

JamieLeeCurtis · 08/02/2011 18:17

I love your DCs name

If you haven't disappeared

What about

Joy or June

expectingno3 · 08/02/2011 13:21

Any combination but Pearl and Jean - sounds like Pearl and Dean the Cinema Advertisment company! Much prefer Jane.

fifi25 · 08/02/2011 11:49

My daughters Connie-Jean hated it at first but its starting to grow on me. Named after great nan

Pasiphae · 08/02/2011 10:57

Jane, under used fabulous name.
Jean and Pearl makes the sibset very blue rinse.

LaydeeC · 08/02/2011 09:17

definitely Jane.
'tis my little one's middle name as I would have liked Janey but hubby didn't like it.
I think Jane is much under-used and way past the time due for a resurgence in popularity.

PlanetLizard · 07/02/2011 22:40

I like Jane. Jean is OK but how about Joan or June? I like Mary from your DH's suggestions.

tummytickler · 07/02/2011 22:13

Thanks all.
freerangeeggs Amos is pronounced A-moss Smile
Going to have to have a big think!

Hi My Nan was called Jane (its ds2s middle name now) and all her life she was known as Jeanie so maybe you could have both? :)

TCOB · 07/02/2011 20:20

Mary Smile is my liddle girl so a massive fan. I love Jane as well - loved the name Mary Jane until my lovely worldly-wise husband explained it was slang for pot Blush

mathanxiety · 07/02/2011 20:17

Jane here, and I think it goes better with Pearl and Iris as sisters. But I like Mary best of all, from the names your DH favours, and I think it would fit better with all the other names, Eli and Amos being Biblical.

GandalfyCarawak · 07/02/2011 20:12

Jean is a wonderful name.

Hedwig3 · 07/02/2011 19:37

Jean is great, especially in that sibset.

abenstille · 07/02/2011 19:25

I have one of those names, spelt slightly differently. People always confuse jean and jane when you say your name but shouldnt matter too much if its a middle one

ValiumSandwichTime · 07/02/2011 19:01

I prefer Jane but I think Jeannie would fit in better with your family. I like the classic simplicity of Jane, but I don't think it's dated enough for your family.

Jean is a bit blah, Jeannie is so much nicer.
