oh dear I need to go back to school.. July...

Heifer · 03/02/2011 16:13

I think June is ok (was my mums name) but you had better have a back up in case DD is early (May) or late (August) Grin

Oh no, June is way more classic and elegant than Juno, which is just a tad gimmick-y, IMO.

I think it could be one of those names due a come-back in the next decade or so, along with Jane and Jeanne/Jean. Maybe too soon for our generation, but not so much for people a bit younger than us.

BeribbonedGibbon · 03/02/2011 08:23

Wink James

mathanxiety · 02/02/2011 23:29

I know a three year old June. It's a really sweet, summery name, but her nn is Junebug. Hmm

I love Joy and Juno too.

I would put June in the same category as Audrey -- 'Midcentury classic'.

hocuspontas · 02/02/2011 22:46

Oh I love it! Have never given any thought to it before but it's simple and classic. Go for it!

JamieLeeCurtis · 02/02/2011 22:37

see how her eyes shine !

BeribbonedGibbon · 02/02/2011 21:14

for James

JamieLeeCurtis · 02/02/2011 20:33

Gibbon - I would look at a baby and see June Whitfield's twinkly eyes and big heart (not literal heart, that would be repulsive - a metaphorical one)

TCOB · 02/02/2011 20:29

I love June - beautiful, classic, different. Mind you, heartily biased in favour of months as names for I have a little May Smile. Joy is also gorgeous.

issy123 · 02/02/2011 20:25

There are sisters at DS's nursery their names are June and Jessica. Having seen a little girl with the name I think its lovely.

Rhubarbgarden · 02/02/2011 20:21

I like June. I also like April and May.

BeribbonedGibbon · 02/02/2011 19:35

I would look at the baby and see June Whitfield's head on it's tiny newborn body.

blowbroth · 02/02/2011 19:17

My dd 's middle name is June after my Mum! I love it and have not come across another one.
My Mum was born in June too!

pointylug · 02/02/2011 18:59

Quit e nice.

But I prefer Jane.

plumviolet · 02/02/2011 18:40

Thanks ladies, still mulling it over. I've got a few months to go and I keep bouncing around the place with names. One minute I love it the next I don't..... Blah

Gibbon - and your point is .......? Grin

MackerelOfFact · 02/02/2011 14:28

Agree that Joy is lovely too.

MackerelOfFact · 02/02/2011 14:27

Love it. A really pretty name that hasn't yet made much of a comeback. I'd definitely use it for a June baby, no hesitation.

HelenaRose · 02/02/2011 14:23

I have a good friend called June - dyed hair, pierced, tattooed, outspoken and noisy! Totally opposite thought to BeribbonedGibbon. Grin

BeribbonedGibbon · 02/02/2011 14:04

June Whitfield.

JamieLeeCurtis · 02/02/2011 13:54

1940s

JamieLeeCurtis · 02/02/2011 13:53

June is lovely. It's not lazy because it's not currently a common name, but it's due a comeback I think. Quite 1040s/50s. Has a nice sound

I like Juno too

and Joy

Hedwig3 · 02/02/2011 10:45

I like it.

I know what you mean about sounding lazy but, on the flip side, would you think a baby called June and born in December sounds odd?

If so, then a June born in June is perfect.
