Bah! am just clutching at straws, arent I??

Could I please have your honest opinions on Tallon - an ancient Irish (boy's) name meaning gift.

My DH went to school with a very arty Tallon. He liked the name so much he wanted us to use it for DS, but I'm not convinced...

You are overthinking this.

If you are searching around the far reaches of the Internet for "unusual" Irish names, and thd name Tallon strikes you as acceptable, your judgement has forsaken you.

Give the baby a break and stop agonising over names for a bit. You won't find anything you like in this state of mind. Truly.

You must be driving your husband demented :o

Another alternative, although it's Welsh rather than Irish, is Taliesin.

Erm, that would be a no from me. There is a Tarin in ds's class though not keen on that either probably cos he's a handful and his mum is orange. No help from me there then Blush.

There's a Tallen in my DH's family. Was a bit weird to start with and people always ask you to repeat it but I've got used to it over the years.

ive heard worse, think its alright

reminds me of a mate at college who wanted to name all his kids after animals.
Wolf, fox, wren, hawk. I bet he never thought of tallon
