We are discussing names for ds 2. DS1 is Thomas and we tend to go for classic names. We are considering Owen or Max. What do you think?

Love Max / Maximilan. Is Maxim not a lads mag? It's ages since I've been in the UK, maybe I'm remembering wrong?

Who suggested Max? My dh was desperate for Max if we have a boy, then told me why and it got vetoed straight away, make sure there isn't an ulterior motive!

Quenelle · 25/01/2011 17:03

Yep, Max is a dog's name.

PlanetLizard · 25/01/2011 13:38

Maxim is very nice :)

Rhubarbgarden · 25/01/2011 12:51

Max will always be a dog's name to me too. Owen is nice.

stillbobbysgirl · 25/01/2011 12:48

Max is a dogs name.

Maxim and Maxwell are fine, Max is fine, Maximus is not fine unless you are a Roman Gladiator.

We were actually thinking of Maxim.

Max as Max is just fine and dandy. I love it.

rachel234 · 25/01/2011 12:43

sorry, meant Maximus.

rachel234 · 25/01/2011 12:43

Maximilian or Maximuns are great. Although both are less 'classic' than Thomas imo.

PlanetLizard · 25/01/2011 12:33

Max (as nickname for something longer).

mopsyflopsy · 25/01/2011 12:18

I dislike Owen. Max is ok, a little 'trendy' especially compared to Thomas (which feels more classic). I'd put Maximilian on the bc.

HettyAmaretti · 25/01/2011 12:17

Max, definitrly. A much nicer name than Owen and works much better with Thomas than Owen too, IMHO.

What will it be short for? Maxwell? Maximus? Maximillian?

evamummy · 25/01/2011 12:14

I don't like Owen, but I like Maximilan, shortened to Max/Maxi.
