So what girls or boys names would you suggest with a surname like this? It is Italian :)

goingroundthebend4 · 24/01/2011 06:17

I had this problem to Luca , stephano was also on my list both my boys have Italian names and neither of them shorten them or made them more English sounding oh and there not the above

mathanxiety · 24/01/2011 06:02

Want to add Dominic.

mathanxiety · 23/01/2011 21:37

Luca Pappini sounds like 'Look, a pappini' to me. (Slight Dublin accent...)

I love Lorenzo.

How about
Leo
Milo
Arlo
Hugo
Franco

I think less 'Italian' names might sound good too -
Michael
David
Gabriel

For girls -
Valentina
Eliza
Eliska (Czech name, version of Elizabeth)
Miranda
Keziah
Lara
Clara
Antonia
Alannah
Dinah
Margarita/ Rita
Francesca
Maria

my niece is Elena ( her father is greek and they live there). it works in many languages - she is Ellie to her English speaking family

ByTheSea · 23/01/2011 20:05

Aldo, Emilio, Bruno.

I love Elena for a girl.

Alessandra/ Elena/ Luca/ Gio/ Rudi/ Riccardo/ Lorenzo
Your surname is fabulous.

SecretNutellaFix · 23/01/2011 19:13

Luca is quite popular amongst the Italian familes here, also Sebastian?
Anna, Laura, Alice maybe?

weimy · 23/01/2011 19:11

No the good old north west of England but I know that it will sound strange if it ends with an I sound. I want something Italian but not too far out there if you know what I mean :)

Are you in Italy?

tbh, I would just avoid names like Naomi, Charlie, Alfie, Ashley etc
