Sigh-Anne.

I thought the woman was mispronouncing Sian, then saw the name written down. Sigh-Anne. I mean, what on earth...?

the other was a little boy called Ragen. As in Ronald Regan, but Ragen. Ragen? I am not a name snob, but I do draw the line at deliberately misspelling surnames and then using them as a first name! Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I know a Ceejay, Paige Turner, Shilee (shyly) - girls and boys called Dre (as in Doctor Dre I should imagine) and River Greenfield.

CarnivalBizarre · 25/06/2011 23:29

I have just realised through reading this thread that I know some people with very unusual names :

Waikiki - girl - suits her very well
Ludo - man
Maderson Lucifer -man
Paradise - very anti social little person
Praise - girl
Faymey - made up name by very silly parents
Kesley - mother was drunk when she had her name registered ...was supposed to be Kelsey
B'shaley - lets not even go there
Ty'reese - hmmm thats B'shaley's brother
Arrabiata - girl
Corben Bleu - boy
Muse - boy

In my line of work I come into contact with children everyday and I am quite often shocked by name choices but smile sweetly and say 'Oh thats lovely/unusual' - while cringing inwardly and hoping said child decides to change their name by deed poll in adulthood

fivegomadindorset · 25/06/2011 23:14

Sequoia.

DioneTheDiabolist · 25/06/2011 23:14

I also know of an Attracta Feeley. Sounds like the sort of outfits I used to wear on a Friday night out.

DioneTheDiabolist · 25/06/2011 23:13

I know of a Lasagne. If she's still alive, she'd be nearly 70 now.

SoFluffyImGonnaDie · 25/06/2011 23:07

Don't people realise how hard it's going to be to try and be taken seriously at the age of 25 going for a job interview called D'shawnjiya or some other made up variation!

RubyFakeNails · 17/06/2011 23:14

I'm suprised not to see my dcs names on here although I don't think there particularly nutty.

I did laugh when I read the first few posts on this thread because I read Ragen as rageing!
