What do you think of Elodie.

I've mentioned it to one or two people. Big mistake! The reactions haven't been great, they've also not heard of it before and mixed it up and misheard for Melody.

I love it. Love it. I prefer it with a French accent though (rather than rhyming with melody)!

As it's more unusual it will be one of those names you may have to explain. People will only need telling once.

I am often amazed at the names no one has heard of.

A girl named Elise came to school and none of the staff had heard the name, and said it was made up.

I thought thousands of Frenchwomen were called Elise.

Elodie is nice, but I can see it might be misheard as Melody. Does that matter terribly though?
Melody is a nice word; it's not like Lydia and chlamydia.
