Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
NannyState · 16/01/2011 13:41

Jolene is glorious! I'd love to use it if I were having any more. Grin

Magna · 16/01/2011 13:41

I was thinking about Gary.

What about Sylvia?

Ariesgirl · 16/01/2011 13:38

Mildred and Muriel and Doris

nannynobnobs · 16/01/2011 13:37

Clive. I had a friend called Clive and he didn't like it, and went by the name Fred his whole adult life. I only found out it was his name when I saw his prescription bag.

reikizen · 16/01/2011 13:36

DH will be pleased to hear that. Grin

MarniesMummy · 16/01/2011 13:35

I know 3 Edith's under the age of 5!

Give all of these names 30-60 years and they'll be back.

TheMonster · 16/01/2011 13:33

I teach a boy called Gary.

reikizen · 16/01/2011 13:31

gary?

TheMonster · 16/01/2011 13:27

I wouldn't want my child to have a 'fashionable' name anyway.

mamadiva · 16/01/2011 13:19

Edwina
Jolene
Stacy

Alouiseg · 16/01/2011 13:16

I can't see Susan, Claire or Julie coming round again for a while.

belgo · 16/01/2011 13:13

Lots of names are 'of their time' - it's just that their time comes back again after three or four generations.

BellaMagnificat · 16/01/2011 13:12

Considered Leonard for this thread then remembererd I know a few Leos - though that could be Leopold I suppose.

gerald.. Hmmm

For the list
geoffrey?

Think Philip is fairly standard, no?

Wayne
Barbara?
Sharon
Christine
Edna
Sheila?

OK I stand corrected re Stanley Elsie and Edith - all nice names but rather thought they were 'of their time' only.

Apparently not!

clumsymumluckybaby · 16/01/2011 12:47

Jezabel

i love that name,but sadly totaly un-useableSad

i also really like alot of granny names like Elsie and Beatrix...

belgo · 16/01/2011 10:55

Isn't Norbert the dragon in Harry Potter?

In which case, it will come back.

I'm awaiting the return of Norman, but at the moment Roman is gaining popularity.

PlanetLizard · 16/01/2011 10:23

I like Susan and Edith.

SimplyRead · 16/01/2011 10:23

Trevor

GandalfyCarawak · 16/01/2011 10:22

Well it's a Welsh name (we're Welsh 1st language) so it wouldn't mean much to you anyway! He is named after my lovely uncle.

NannyState · 16/01/2011 10:22

I know a few little girls called Elsie and two little boys called Frankie (who will no doubt become Frank when they're older), so wrong there.

I also know a little Edith and a Herbie.

I don't think you can ever say 'never'.

I would never have guessed that names like Iris, Ivy Violet and Esme, or Stanley, Archie etc would become so popular.

changethatname · 16/01/2011 10:21

Gandalfy - will you tell us your dc's name? I am intrigued now!

1234ThumbScrew · 16/01/2011 10:20

Roger

ThisFeelsWeird · 16/01/2011 10:18

What about Norbert? My Dad has a friend called Norbert - he goes by Nobby. Bet that won't be creeping up the top 100 any time soon.

GandalfyCarawak · 16/01/2011 10:18

I think "Granny" names will be popular with our children's generation, so the Kevins and Nigels, Lindas and Sharons will come back. I have given my youngest child a name from that generation, and it's great- Not a weird, out there name but no-one of his age has it.
