if it is very popular in your area? I don't know any but think it rates up in top 20, so they must be out there somewhere.

Also DS is Caspar. The don't really 'go' I know but it doesn't matter does it?

Name is Joseph.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yes, I know a couple as well. To be honest it's a nice name and will probably always be in fashion. If you chose an unusual name like Caspar then maybe you arent into 'popular names'? But if you dont mind then go for it!

I know a Joseph who's known as Joey, and one who is (vehemently!) known as "Joseph, NOT Joe, thank you Angry'. That last one makes me chuckle!

Tbh, our boys' names were chosen as they meant something to us and we liked them. Never occurred to us to worry about popularity or not, so i you like it then go for it!

i dont know if its as popular as it used to be, the only younger one i know is my cousin (18 mnths) and hes gorgeous Grin

We know a few Josephs or Joes.

DS is a 14 year old Joe. He plays cricket with another Joe and there a few at school too. Friend's hubby is Joe and we have Josephs way back in our family trees.

Still love the name and glad we chose it.

It's a simple, traditional name but blokey too. Good biblical connotations if that is important to you. It is also a name that spans the generations.

Just don't ever call him "Joesey Woesey" as I once did when he was about 6 - in front of mates. If looks could kill.

WaftyCrank · 15/01/2011 14:30

I know 2 Joseph's (one is mine :)) and a Joe.

It's a good, strong name though and doesn't seem as popular as Alfie/Archie/Harry round here.

usualsuspect · 15/01/2011 14:30

I know loads of Joes and Josephs all teenagers though

Meglet · 15/01/2011 14:26

I know a Joseph and 2 Joes.

It's still a good name though, can't wear it out!

Clary · 15/01/2011 14:25

Gosh yes I know lots and lots of boys called Joseph or Joe.

There are at least 10 in my DCs' infant and junior schools (about 400 pupils).

No Caspars FWIW.

Joseph is a lovely name tho, as I always say, popular for a reason. DS2's best mate Grin and such a nice lad.

BabyValentine · 15/01/2011 14:24

I know of one - he's about 2.
