Elfrida?

Any thoughts on the name Elfrida? I like Elfrida with Elfie or Freddie for short for a baby girl...I really want an unusual old english name.

How about Efimia (NN: Fima)? It is a very rare Greek name. Otherwise, prefer Frida. However, Fridas I met were most jewish.

Elfrieda is a more common version of the name.

I have a (French) friend called Frederique and we call her Freddie.

Sounds like two names pushed together. Elle and Frieda. Bit odd.

There must be some variations that are more normal that you like?

I know an Elfrida (not English) and I hate to say it but I smirk every time I remember her name. She calls herself Ellie.

Also what if people started calling her Elf-Rider, similar to Flo-Rida?

Having said that Elfie is a lovely nickname. Think Aelfrith is another version of the name. TBH half of the OE names we have begin with Ael/El so there must be plenty of choice. What about Adeline?
