Odd names I like

Dunno why I am thinking of these today, but there you go.

Just after I had my daughter my son dreamt up the name Vickery. I wish he had thought of it before we named her, I really liked it.

Mallory - never read the towers books, but I do think this is a really nice girl's name.

My brother was at Uni with a man called Tudor. I think it is Welsh, may be spelled Tudur, rather than the English kings way.

There you have them, my odd - but cool - names of the day.

Vickery sounds very masculine to me -

Phil Vickery the chef
&
Phil Vickery the rugby player

Vickery is a bit weird tbh! rweminds me of Phil Vickery.
and it's a bit like Vicky, but wrong

Tudor is a fab name though.

DastardlyandSmugly · 13/01/2011 21:42

I know a Tudor and he is Welsh.

I like odd names. Love Onni (boy) but couldn't get it past DH.

I want to call my DC Pomroy if it turns out to be a boy but DH won't let me.... something about hormones and being ridiculous.....

AnnOnimous · 13/01/2011 20:59

I am not brave enough to do quirky names, but I do love them.

I would also have loved Robin for a boy.

I looked after a Mallory, but they were a he, not a she.

Vickery??

I like twists on names

Emmy instead of Emma
Cole instead of Colin

BackOnceAgain · 13/01/2011 20:46

Kingsley (sounds, err regal?)
Dara (first crush)
Persephone (maybe if we lived in London)
Gwendolyn (my doll's name)
Grin

thatsnotmymonkey · 13/01/2011 20:42

Ignatious
Victor
Magda
Oisin
Barley
Astrid
Lorcan
Lowry
Lupe
Jape

I LIKE tudur and I like all of my names, and they are all still in the running for the next baby
