We didn't think - now got a naming dilemma!

Namechanger because this identifies me and my kids undoubtedly...

So me and DH didn't really think through our name decisions just went on what we wanted...

So DS1 is called Lucas Gabriel Andrew because my DH's GF was called Lucas, I loved Gabriel and my DH is called Andrew

DS2 comes along and we name him Leon Silas Robert because I love Leon, My Dad is called Silas and my DH's brother is called Robert.

We realise a pattern... all Ls so when DC3 comes along and is another boy we think it will be a good idea to do all Ls so DS3 is called Lloyd Matthew Benedict.

Now I am pregnant with DC4 and it is a girl but we like NO names for girls that begin with Ls but we can't exactly not go for an L because we don't want this child to be the odd one out....

Please help and suggest some girl names beginning with L!

I love Jennifer. I don't know why it has never occurred to me how much I love the name.

Leonie is good I think.

Are you sure you can't find an L name you like?

BluTac · 12/01/2011 01:25

To be honest when I read your post and you mentioned a pattern, I hadn't noticed. You don't need to keep up the L thing.

nancythenaughtyfairy · 11/01/2011 22:33

Don't think it has to begin with L, but I could happily name six or more dd,s with beautiful names beginning with L!

Louise/a
Laura
Lily/Lilian
Lara
Lucy
Lydia

daimbardiva · 11/01/2011 21:32

Lily, if you are set on L. But I agree, don't get stuck on it for the sake of it!

JiltedJohnsJulie · 11/01/2011 20:51

Julia, Jennifer and Rose are all lovely. Molly is too but a little too popular for me.

Blatherskite · 11/01/2011 20:25

Go for a different letter. She'll be so pleased once she gets big enough to start recieving mail that she won't mind. She'll be the only one who's sure which post is for her!

AnnOnimous · 11/01/2011 20:04

I would go with Julia Molly Rose.

Fenugreek · 11/01/2011 18:35

Both my parents and my brother are all P names. I'm not. It has never occured to me to mind about this.

youareallcunts · 11/01/2011 18:28

My friend has 3 brothers with J names and hers begins with I.

Don' think it matters does it?

Sarsaparilllla · 11/01/2011 17:57

Me and my brother both have a name starting with S and my sister's starts with another letter, it's never occured to any of us that it was anything other than just names our parents liked, don't overthink it

Firawla · 11/01/2011 17:50

the fact its a girl gives u an excuse to break your L theme anyway, if she ever asked about it just say its L for boys and whatever else for girls - easy
so chose whichever name you like. or you can just pick a name you love and tell her like we liked it so much that we did not care it doesnt begin with L, im sure she wont be too bothered

Sarsaparilllla · 11/01/2011 17:28

Doesn't have to be the same starting letter at all, you're being daft :o

theagedparent · 11/01/2011 17:17

Molly Rose is nice. Have Ls for the boys and Ms for the girls x

2old4thislark · 11/01/2011 17:15

Lose the L's. I was going to say the same about the post as they grow up.

WhyDidntWeThink · 11/01/2011 17:03

Hmm I'm starting to think we should take this as an opportunity to lose the Ls.... we do save massively on name tags though....

My grandmothers were called Jennifer and Rose and my DH's grandmothers were called Julia and Molly... could any of those work?

AvengingGerbil · 11/01/2011 16:56

You're already in for the nightmare of post arriving for L WhyDidntWeThink and not knowing who it is for. Why make it worse?

If you want to go with a theme, what about your mothers and grandmothers names?

IAmTheCookieMonster · 11/01/2011 16:55

I like Louisa

Deciduousblonde · 11/01/2011 16:50

I don't see how a child would feel 'left out' because they have a different first letter to their name.

I agree with the others..if you like a name, use it regardless :)
