The Beths I know have sisters called:

Laura
Alice
Abigail (Abbie)
Florence (Flossie)
Rachel
Georgia
Freya
Daisy
Hannah
Martha

In fact the 4 Beths I know have two sisters each which is very odd...

Hello Annie - not many out there are there? Although lots of people have told me that the name was on their 'list'. Mine's 7, how about yours? (sorry mini hijack there)

Are you after a more uncommon name? None on your list are hugely popular in this neck of the woods - probably Kate is the most used here.

Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy . I love the "Little Women" names. But... how about Abigail ?

Has has has to be Kate, Beth and Kate sound lovely!

Kate is a super name, bold, classic and feminine, all a name should be.

Our Anya is called Annie 90% of the time at home(although have never written it down so not sure I would spell it that way - mmm? Thinking aloud sorry!).

Around here neither name is popular - have heard of but never met a child with either name.

sorry, that was a bit incoherent, didn't need a 'the' in there! Anya is also a bit more unusual than Martha.

Whatever name you use someone won't like it. Normally for some very random reason (the most regretted thread had some very bizarre reasons on it). If you love the name and your DP is happy with it stop looking and keep it to yourself - if you don't tell people they can't put you off.

Jeremy Vine's daughter is called Martha and everytime he mentions her I come over all Envy.

My DD's called Anya - which I do like (although I think is another Marmite name judging by comments on here) - but it's just not Martha!

Good luck and will be watching out for an announcement now (when are you due?)

I've always liked the name Martha and I've often said so on here... I've just been wobbling a bit recently as there seems to have been quite a lot of negative comments about the name and some people name-changing their DD's name from Martha etc.

My 6 month old is called Martha and don't regret it one bit. We both love her name and can't think of a name we like better. I think it is a love it or hate it name but most of the reaction we got to her name when she was born was very very positive.

loler - that's wonderfully encouraging, thank you! but sorry for you that you didn't get to use Martha - hope that you found another lovely name for your DD. and I agree with you, I'm thinking that Martha is a bit of a Marmite name!

I saw the other thread - Martha is my most regretted name - I really regret NOT using it for DD (at the time we had an elderly cat called Martha!). I think it's a love it or hate it type name - but at least it gets some feeling. Use it use it...

Thanks! Really liking Kate, Tess, Rosie and Martha (love the name Martha but wobbling a little - see other thread on most regretted name). Jess also seems to go with Beth, has similar feel. Hmm.
