Eve, Amelia or Alice

Hi!

Would love your opinions on these names please. Surname begins with "F" if that makes any difference.

I think I am leaning towards Eve, but I am so indecisive!

Thanks for your help Smile

I love them all and would love to use Alice for our baby (33 weeks pregnant at mo) but husband doesn't like it! We both like Evelyn (we'd prob use Evie for short although it's popular which does put me off a bit) I also love Amelia but it my niece's name (Milly for short)
Sorry, don't think I've been much help. Alice is my favourite tho.

KERALA1 · 11/01/2011 13:10

Be warned there are lots and lots and lots of Eve/Evies/Evas. One third of the girls in DD's class have a variant of this name gets terribly confusing.

TrillianAstra · 11/01/2011 08:49

Amelia because you can shorten it.

I think names should have the option for nicknames.

suzym1984 · 11/01/2011 08:43

Wow, thanks so much for all the help! For some reason I expected Alice to not be very popular!

pussycat I like Amelie but my sister's daughter is called Emily, so maybe a bit too similar?

what about Amelie? I always thought id pick that before I'd even concieved Blush

pussycatmomma · 10/01/2011 23:46

Gotta be Alice Smile if either of my 2 ds's had been girls they would have been Alice. Very pretty, timeless, but could kick ass and hold her own as a grown up with attitude. In my humble opinion that is of course!

ooma · 10/01/2011 23:40

I know an Eve Alice, she does not get called Evie

smother · 10/01/2011 23:33

Alice - no contest

Mousesmummy · 10/01/2011 20:47

Alice without a doubt!!!
Eve is nice as is Amelia but Alice is just gorgeous!!!

JojoMags · 10/01/2011 20:42

Alice, Eve, Amelia, in that orde, with Amelia some way behind!

pinkgirlythoughts · 10/01/2011 19:23

I have Eve/Ava and Amelia on my list, and also a LN that starts with F. I've been hesitant about Eve because with our surname it sounds like the two names run together, as if I'm just saying E. Lastname instead of Eve Lastname. That might depend somewhat on accent though.

I know of a baby Amelia, which again makes me a bit more hesitant about using it, knowing that it will be popular! It's lovely, though!

Alice, not amny around unlike Eve which seems very opoular at the moment.

Hedwig3 · 10/01/2011 19:04

Amelia

flopsy1974 · 10/01/2011 17:24

Definately Alice.

shouldnotbehere · 10/01/2011 16:52

Like all the names, Eve is possibly my favourite, then Alice, and finally Amelia.

All lovely names though

suzym1984 · 10/01/2011 16:48

Thanks everyone, you are being very helpful Smile

It does bother me slightly that Evie is becoming so popular, altho we would call the baby Eve.

Alice is quite unusual around here (I am a teacher and have never encountered an Alice) which it more appealing!

I have both an Evie (15) and am expecting an Amelia, so I will be biased Grin

Evie wasn't popular when I named my teenager and everyone thought it was wonderfully unusual at the time..see what I mean, it bites you on the ass eventually..lol!

Alice is lovely too, and was on my shortlist when I had my other daughter. Sorry, I'm not helping much am I?!

NannyState · 10/01/2011 16:44

I love Eve, but there are Evies everywhere. Does that bother you?

Alice is lovely.

lilibet · 10/01/2011 16:41

Alice

Deffo Alice, tis beautiful!

Mrsmackie · 10/01/2011 16:32

I have an Alice (2) so obviously love the name. I think Amelia and Eve are alos lovely but definitley a little more 'faddy' and less timeless

MistletoeMush · 10/01/2011 16:14

I think Alice will date less than the other two. Having said that they are all lovely names and I much prefer Eve than Evie as a full name.

ShoppingDays · 10/01/2011 16:12

Amelia is my favourite of your list, then Eve. However if your surname begins with F I wouldn't go for Eve as the two names would run together. Not keen on Alice.

Sirzy · 10/01/2011 16:11

I like all 3 but Alice is my favourite

LouCracker · 10/01/2011 16:11

Love Alice
Like Amelia
Dislike Eve

loler · 10/01/2011 16:10

I love the name Alice but the 3 babies I have known born in the last year are all called Alice.
