Utterly Vile and a bit trailer trash IMO.

cece · 02/01/2011 19:29

My BF is called Rae and I have always thought it was lovely. But why spoil it with the Lily and hyphen in front of it.

FattyArbuckel · 02/01/2011 19:27

However what matters is if you like it, so you shouldn't listen to what strangers think!

FattyArbuckel · 02/01/2011 19:26

Ugg not nice - the hyphen is naffola

alemci · 02/01/2011 19:26

don't mind lily but Rae sounds like a boys name and conjours up images of Raymond. Not keen on hyphenated names for that matter.

Sarsaparilllla · 02/01/2011 19:23

If you wnt it hyphonated then do it, she can use just the first part when she;s older if she wants to.

My name is hyphonated and for years I did that, now sometimes I use both parts, I didn't realise so many people were anti hyphonated names :o

LittleYellowTeapot · 02/01/2011 19:15

Lily is a lovely name. I must admit that the '-Rae' would spoil it a little.

Lily is lovely though Smile

PawPuss · 02/01/2011 18:43

Both awful.

spidookly · 02/01/2011 18:36

Awful for so many reasons.

SlightlyTubbyHali · 02/01/2011 18:35

Not my cup of tea.

Names ending Rae etc always remind me of Cath and Kim (baby Epponnee-Rae). A hilarious show, but not really what you want for your kids...

MistleToad · 02/01/2011 18:32

Awful awful name, sorry.

EricNorthpolesChristmas · 02/01/2011 18:29

Made me physically shudder. Hyphenated names are generally awful, and anything-rae/mae is extra awful. Macie? not a name, nor is raine. Try looking at actual names, not just sounds you like.

Megglevache · 02/01/2011 17:00

I think that the whole hypenation of names is going to be more of a trend than the actual names themselves.

It is a huge trend most of the children in my dd's class at nursery have name X- followed by for girls:
Jay
Jae
Ray
Rae
Kay
Fay
Fey
May
Mae
Rose

or for boys
Ray
Rae
Leigh
Lee
Dre

stressheaderic · 02/01/2011 16:52

Agree with all others - hyphenated names not good. Would imagine you'd be calling her Lil from day 1 so why bother with the whole double name thing?
Macie Raine is dreadful. Sounds like porn star.

NewYearNewPants · 02/01/2011 16:44

I like Lily, but Lily-Rae, Lily-Mae, Lily-Fay etc - not good.

tebbles · 02/01/2011 16:34

Use 'Lily' as the first name and 'Rae' as the middle name. You can still call her 'Lily Rae' but this looks much better as an official name and it is a more appropriate name for both a child and an adult.

Lily-Rae is too childish IMO for a first name.

I dislike like Macie Raine.

nosnownosnow · 02/01/2011 16:18

pmsl

4andnotout · 02/01/2011 15:08

I have a Maisy-Rae, she is named after he g.aunt Rachel who is known as Rae as she hated Rachel.

TheMonster · 02/01/2011 15:05

Both awful.

DooinMeCleanin · 02/01/2011 15:02

Rae is lovely Angry

I like Lily-Rae but I could be biased. It's v similar to dd1's name Grin

Nightstar · 02/01/2011 15:00

Dont hyphenate - use Rae as middle name x

MistletoeMush · 02/01/2011 14:50

Lily is great. Not keen on Rae and not keen on hyphenated names. Lily Rachel works. Quite like Macy but think that it will date. Not keen on Raine.

BarbieLovesKen · 02/01/2011 10:02

Lily is lovely. Lily - Rae is terrible. Hyphenated names are silly.

truffleshuffle · 02/01/2011 09:14

What EauRouge said.
Macie Raine is even worse...sorry!

NancyDrewHasaClue · 02/01/2011 09:13

Lily is lovely but very, very popular.

Lily - Rae is awful. But then I am not a fan of hyphenated names at all.
