Has anyone ever put a name on here that no-one has disliked?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I think Anna was perceived as a good inoffensive name.

Underused but pretty

and

James wasnt hated either

TrillianAstra · 01/01/2011 21:52

No such thing - you would never get MNers to agree on anything.

No.

And if so I'd avoid that name because it will be by definition super mega popular... Smile.

tummytickler · 01/01/2011 22:07

I do not think so. For example - I really dislike Anna Grin

sophiesmummie · 01/01/2011 22:09

Of course not - we luckily don't all share the same tastes Smile.

Also agree with mopsy that a well liked name will by definition be mega popular, so will fall out of favour quickly too...

Isobel

Emma

I came on looking for advice on a name, as I'd gone off my original favourite of Juliet, and got an overwhelming response of 'don't change your mind!'. After looking through most of the other threads relating to Juliet, I found that most people had nothing bad to say about it. Although there were one or two people who said they didn't like it. Which obviously means that they disliked it, so wouldn't fit the criteria in your OP.

So in summary...

ChampagneTrulyReigns · 01/01/2011 22:32

Beauden.

Grin

ooh yay! my DS is James. I LOVE the name Anna but my DH wasn't too sure - our girl's choice was Zoe which seems fairly liked on here too.

mathanxiety · 01/01/2011 23:39

Miriam seems to meet with universal approval.

BarbieLovesKen · 01/01/2011 23:54

Actually when I was pregnant with DS, I came on here to ask about the name Oisín and didnt get one bad comment Shock

QueeferSantaland · 01/01/2011 23:57

Sophie?

wisteria12 · 02/01/2011 00:12

BarbieLovesKen - Well that's because Oisin is an amazing name! Wink

I think I can remember Atticus being really popular, though most people said they'd never use it. I did though so I guess that makes me some sort of renegade.

Miriam?? I don't think so MA.

freerangeeggs · 02/01/2011 03:00

People seem to be quite into Marianne but I haven't seen a specific thread on it.

sophiesmummie · 02/01/2011 10:42

"People seem to be quite into Marianne"

Really? I personally really dislike it.

HappyHogmanay · 02/01/2011 11:02

there is a Miriam thread right now - not everyone likes it.
I like Marianne, it was almost used by us for DD but we couldn't find a middle name that went with it and in the end decided that people would confuse it for Marion which we both disliked.
Atticus - no way!

ValiumTinselton · 02/01/2011 11:09

Marianne, Juliet, Alice, they are quite mumsnetty! I like two out of that three.

Although of course not everybody likes them. I really like Miriam but as pp says, some people dislike it.

tammytoby · 02/01/2011 11:29

Why are we so keen to find names that are 'approved' by random mumsnetters...Confused?

Are we all so insecure that we need widespread approval (by people whose tastes might be in complete contrast to our own)?

swanandduck · 02/01/2011 13:47

There's a Miriam thread at the moment and not everyone likes it.

I agree Juliet seems to be very popular. I remember a thread where everyone was raving about Polly.
