I'm due today. There's no sign. (It's because he doesn't have a name, yet Grin)

Here's the shortlist of baby names I'm considering that I generated with Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder. Let me know what you think.

Boys
Angus
Billy
Fergus
Hector
Leo
Moss
Patrick
Sterling
Tobias
Tom

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
AnnOnimous · 02/01/2011 21:40

Congrats.

If the kids love Toto you could always call him Thomas, and Toto could be his nn.

BelligerentGhoul · 02/01/2011 21:28

Ooh yes please to a pic.

Look after yourself and have a good sleep. :)

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 02/01/2011 21:25

Bit sore - and a bit shaky and VERY tired. Didn't get to sleep until 3 and up at 5:20 timing contractions - then the kids have been SO excited, they've been in to see us every 20 minutes, you know, each time we've managed to get to sleep!! Grin.

I'm even more stumped now I've seen him, to be honest. No name is grabbing me. We'll see what he looks like tomorrow, I guess.

If I could work out how to post a pic to my profile - I would, and then you could all have a look and offer suggestions...

Maybe I'll see if I can manage that tomorrow, too.

I know a Toto, at least it is what his baby brother calls him, he is really Hector :)

BornInTheLGI · 02/01/2011 21:19

Hector.

BelligerentGhoul · 02/01/2011 21:18

:)

And how are you?

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 02/01/2011 21:16

Yes, I was wondering if they'd've preferred a dog!

It's all gone a bit Wizard of Oz...

BelligerentGhoul · 02/01/2011 21:13

Oh congratualtions you! :)

Toto - mmm sounds sort of yappy, maybe?!!!

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 02/01/2011 21:07

Just to let you you know - he's here and still has no name - though the DDs seem to be calling him 'Toto' Hmm.

So, not keen on my choices then, darlene?!! Grin - ah well.

No luck picking a name yet, mumatron - will post in other thread

OP posts:
mumatron · 01/01/2011 21:53

any luck picking a name yet?

we have not even had the conversation yet. it just ends in tears (dp's usually Grin )

any sign of the baby yet?

itsawonderfuldarleneconnorlife · 01/01/2011 21:48

Boys
Angus- ugly, sounds like the name of a farm animal
Billy- goat gruff
Fergus- prefer Fergal
Hector- what if he's a scrawny, meek little thing?
Leo- either a fan of titanic or tb are we?
Moss- ok, bit surnamey
Patrick- sounds too much like 'dick'
Sterling- F1 fans??
Tobias- what's wrong with Toby?
Tom- boring but solid

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 01/01/2011 21:41

You see, that's why MN babyname board is great - of coure you can't have Romilly and Billy together - but it doesn't always occur to you when you're right in the middle of it.

Angus (the cat) will spend the next 2 years hiding under the bed regardless. Most people probably don't even know we've got a cat.

OP posts:
Rhubarbgarden · 01/01/2011 20:16

Angus! I think your cat would feel honoured.

rachxx · 01/01/2011 20:10

Leo is nice. I have a nephew called Leon

NewYearNewPants · 01/01/2011 19:58

Billy and Romilly - NO.

I like Leo, Patrick and Tom.

Lovely girls names, btw.

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 01/01/2011 19:54

Yes - I have a thing about alliteration, too - not too keen on F F. No, not opposed to Thomas, would be in full on bc & DH keen on full names.

I'm pretty sure the cat wouldn't object - just wondering if I could get my head around it.

No - don't watch The IT Crowd - but he's the one with big hair, isn't he?

OP posts:
JojoMags · 01/01/2011 18:34

Have you seen the IT Crowd. Please don't call him Moss!

tebbles · 01/01/2011 18:29

Also I like the idea of naming him after the cat!! YOu will just have to start referring to the cat as 'Angus-the-cat'.

tebbles · 01/01/2011 18:27

I really like Patrick, Angus and Tom (are you opposed to Thomas?)

I quite like Moss, Leo and Sterling.

I think you should avoid Fergus due to your surname.

I really dislike Hector and Tobias. Also Billy looks very childish as a full first name.

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 01/01/2011 15:05

[grin} floozie

If it was a girl, I could go for Sheila - it's due a revival...

Fergus and Patrick. Hector and Leo are lovely too.

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 01/01/2011 02:42

I like Rufus too - particularly as it has the same derivation as my Father's name (Roy) which I can't/won't use (because I'm not keen on it) & as Joe is named after DH's father, I thought it would be nice. But you've guessed it, DH doesn't like it...

IvantaOuiOui · 01/01/2011 01:48

Patrick is lovely. I have a 6yo Patrick.
