I know a female Dixie, mid 50s, not a nn or short for anything.

nappyaddict · 04/01/2011 00:17

onimolap What was Dixie a nickname for?

Kara What sex is the 3 year old Baxter? I always thought it was a boy's name, but it seems to be unisex.

tebbles · 02/01/2011 01:40

I only know a mid 40s Dixie.

MrsShrekTheThird · 02/01/2011 01:30

The only Baxter I know is a spaniel
Dixie is a baby girl at the nursery my dd went to. And
surely there are no real people called Bellatrix outside the world of Harry Potter? Shock

Bellatrix fabulous as played by Helena Bonham Carter in Harry Potter

Baxter and Dixie, are they your puppies?

mathanxiety · 01/01/2011 23:44

I do know a little Hilda, aged 5, and I think it's lovely, but the others not nice imo.

NotAnotherNewNappy · 01/01/2011 23:42

I know a Dixie, female, early twenties.

swanandduck · 31/12/2010 12:43

No, and I think they're awful names, especially Bellatrix.

FIMBOisfirstfootin2moro · 31/12/2010 11:38

Nope

rockinhippy · 31/12/2010 10:22

also a female Baxter,

I've only ever known/heard of that one for Girls, though surprised, as I've always thought it a bit Masculine myself Confused

KaraStarbuckThrace · 31/12/2010 10:04

I know a 3 yo Baxter.

I don't know any Dixies.

You'd be insane to consider Bellatrix, sorry!

ChippyMinton · 31/12/2010 09:59

I know a Dixie - in her twenties.

Don't know any Baxter, but it would work for a boy.

Bellatrix - this a joke surely?

CuppaTeaJanice · 31/12/2010 09:56

My gran had several friends called Hilda and Ethel. They'd be in their late 90s now I suppose, assuming they are still alive.

My Barbie horse's foal was called Dixie, if that's any help. It was a foal in the mid 1980s, so about 25 years old now, although I'm not sure if plastic horses actually age in the same way as real ones do!!

Can't help you with Baxter and Bellatrix, closest I know are Max and Beatrix.

Lamorna · 31/12/2010 09:54

I might consider them for pets.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 31/12/2010 09:37

Very happy to say no I haven't.

HollyGoHeavily · 31/12/2010 07:57

No - because to me they say

  1. Soup
  2. US Deep South and the confederacy
  3. HP and Asterix
BellaBearisWideAwake · 31/12/2010 07:46

I know a 22yo Dixie

A guardian journalist (Phil Hogan? something like that) has a teenage Baxter

onimolap · 31/12/2010 07:06

I know one person whose nn is Dixie.

I don't know either of the others in RL.

I quite like Bellatrix, but despite being a star in the constellation Orion, it's totally dominated by the HP baddie association.

APixieInMyMulledWine · 31/12/2010 06:57

I know of a Dixie around 2yrs old (female)

Love the name.

Don't know anyone with the other names.

nappyaddict · 31/12/2010 03:04

What about a Hilda or an Ethel?

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 31/12/2010 02:09

rockinhippy Is the 14 year old Baxter male or female?

OP posts:
madwomanintheattic · 31/12/2010 01:56

i know a lot of dogs called baxter... but only a single female human dixie who's about 7 i think. i think dixie was a bit popular around the height of the felix revolution. about 8 or 9 years ago? i only know the one now though. i know two pixies though

MardyBra · 31/12/2010 01:52

BTW don't know anyone in RL with those names. Quite like Baxter though, although I'm sure someone with mention soup.
