My friend is a Clare and my middle name is Claire. I prefer it with the i. Don't mind it too much as a name.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 22/12/2010 18:17

very nice and much prefer without the i. Not sure why!

BelligerentYhoULE · 22/12/2010 18:15

My best friend is a Claire. She is about as un-nut-jobby as it is possible to be.

catinthehat2 · 22/12/2010 17:59

Clares are overweening nutjobs IME.
But no reason why somebody somewhere can't bring up one who is normal Smile

Hulababy · 22/12/2010 17:53

I'm a Claire. I don't mind my name. Its not a bad name. At the moment it feels quite a 70s name. As a negative I used to not like that I couldn't shorten it for a mn when a child.

CharlieBoo · 22/12/2010 17:52

People will always spell it with the 'i' though...

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 22/12/2010 17:49

My middle name is Clare.

Always thought it was a bit bland, personally.

I do prefer it without the 'i' though.

BelligerentYhoULE · 22/12/2010 17:46

Lovely as Claire - I just think it looks prettier then.
