Maya is a lovely name IMO!

goplayout · 07/01/2011 12:14

Ooohh no, Maya pronounced Myer always makes me think of Myra Hindley!

Sorry..

Try imagine sitting in the doctors surgery and your DD being called in

..Arianna LittleRach for Dr Smith please..

or

Maya LittleRach.. etc etc

The first time I heard someone in an official capacity (doctor) call out the name and surname of our PFB I thought "Yes! It sounds so right!" Blush

I was truly surprised that the rest of the patients in the waiting room didn't stand up and applaud Grin

rachxx · 06/01/2011 21:55

lol think we might be going with maya (pronounced mya)
Though i will prob change my mind again!

I don't dislike Tiana, it's just very girly and princess-y. It might suit your daughter down to the ground, and it is more usable than Tallulah IMO.

ShoppingDays · 03/01/2011 20:35

Arianna or Tallulah :)

CheerfulYank · 03/01/2011 16:01

Oooh let us know, let us know! :)

rachxx · 02/01/2011 20:36

I had a 25 hour labour....so might use that to help my case...

LadyBubbaAndBump · 02/01/2011 19:59

I don't think of Tiana as chav at all.

Who did all the pushing? Whoever did that bit of the labour I think should be allowed to choose :o

rachxx · 02/01/2011 19:57

I know Tiana is 'chav; in lots of peoples eyes, and 'disney princess' but so is Jasmine, and that is very widely accepted now, so wouldnt bother me. Hmmm who will bue out of me and OH.

LadyBubbaAndBump · 02/01/2011 19:51

I wouldn't compromise - think you'll live to regret it.

I've also taught a lovely Tiana (only one n though).

Does that help? Xmas Grin Xmas Hmm

rachxx · 02/01/2011 19:47

hahaha, yeah I am registering her birth not this tuesday, but the following tuesday, so I need a name by then lol

I like Tianna best OH likes Arianna best, so the compromise would be Tallulah, but thats my third fave, so maybe I should just go with Arianna???

LadyBubbaAndBump · 02/01/2011 19:42

I have taught a delightful Arianna in the past.

Well done for eliminating - only took you three or four days to eliminate one name, three more to go so baby rachxx may be named in the next couple of weeks!!

Tallulah is fab, although think immediately of Bugsy Malone and Jodie Foster (?) singing "my name is Tallulah.."

rachxx · 02/01/2011 19:12

Have crossed Sienna off the list now. woop etting somewhere I think!!

OP posts:
goplayout · 02/01/2011 17:05

Arianna is nice

Don't like Sienna

Do you like Ariella or Alicia?

I like the idea of Tallulah, but think it would be a difficult name to live with.

Tiana is quite pretty, but makes me think of Princess Tiami (Katie Price offspring)

tebbles · 02/01/2011 10:48

I prefer Arianna and Tullulah, but IMO they are all so similar it doesnt matter which one you go with.

What works best with your surname? What goes well with your family's first names? What goes best with her cousins's names? Which set of initials do you prefer?

freerangeeggs · 02/01/2011 02:58

Arianna.

Tallulah is cool but could be hard to live with.

Sienna is nice but I think it'll date quite quickly.

Tiana is too Disney princess for me.

CheerfulYank · 02/01/2011 02:51

Congratualtions on your new little one! :) I like Arianna and Tallulah, followed by Sienna. Tiana is v v "chav" here so I'm not overly fond, but it really is pretty sounding so go for it if you like it.

Good luck! Let us know what you decide.

ChippingIn · 02/01/2011 02:34

I'm very pleased that she's here :) How are you both?

Nameless for a bit is OK - some other cultures don't name the babies for a year until they develop their personality - so you have time Grin

threefeethighandrising · 02/01/2011 02:29

Arianna Sienna Tallulah Nicole, perhaps? Grin

Rhubarbgarden · 01/01/2011 20:10

Sienna. Congratulations!

rachxx · 01/01/2011 20:05

I have tryed that, and I cant really choose. I want them all lol

thanks everyone :)
