Hero is lovely. DH vetoed that too.

Pollyanna · 13/12/2010 17:48

Oh yes, Hero too. I loved Hero.

Pollyanna · 13/12/2010 17:48

Girls: Lola (showgirl), Hebe (jeebies), Ottilie (utterly butterly), Clementine, Cecilia (the simon and garfunkel song), Martha, Mabel,

Boys Gabriel (gay), Felix (cat), Ptolemy, (no reason given!), Nathaniel, Arthur,

He vetoed so many names, we had to compromise on all of our childrens names, and some weren't named until the 6 week deadline.

anonymosity · 13/12/2010 17:35

Elias
Lazlo
Peter
Michael

(ffs...)

Darnsarfupnorf · 13/12/2010 16:27

haha practicalyimperfect makes me feel better that im not the only one!

I like Orla Raine but he thinks that means his names being demoted and were both so stubborn and competitive i dont think we'll ever comprimise!!

chaya5738 · 13/12/2010 15:15

Gabriel.

I LOVE this name for a boy so much. Am almost hoping for a difficult next delivery so I can name baby Gabriel as compensation for all my hard work. Blush

AllieW · 13/12/2010 14:09

Eli
Isaac
Nathan
Vaughan

Cordelia

Iwasthefourthwiseman · 13/12/2010 14:06

dd2 wasn't named for a week because we couldn't agree. i really didn't know what we'd do as despite dh saying 'ok, we'll name her what you want' after i'd sobbed (baby blues) i knew neither of us could have a name we didn't like.

we did compromise in the end and it worked out fine. dd isn't really a Betty anyway...

Every name I like. He has rubbished them all, including my beloved Elsie. I feel like we'll never agree!

PracticallyImperfectInEveryWay · 13/12/2010 10:46

Would have ruined it for me too, Darnsarfupnorf!

If it were me choosing, I would go with Orla Raine... but then again if I had it all my way I'd have had nothing to add to this thread Grin

FoxyRevenger · 13/12/2010 09:47

Astrid.
Damon
Arlo

Avoidingargosthischristmas · 13/12/2010 01:18

Esme or Estelle for dd
Tobias for ds (love that name)

Darnsarfupnorf · 13/12/2010 01:14

lol practicallyimperfect i didnt get it all my own way! he decided the only way to comprimise was if he got his first choice (raine) in too so now were fighting it out to decide if she'll be Orla-Raine or Orla Raine..if you get me? lol

had my heart set on Alexa from the start then his disgusting ex decided to tell me her DD was gonna be called that, no reason to give it up i know but it completely ruined it for both me and OH :(

CountBapula · 13/12/2010 00:52

Henry. Wanted to name DS after the character in The Secret History. Not only does DH hate the name, he thought the book was shite as well :(

DS is SO not a Henry though, and the name we went for really suits him, so it all worked out in the end Grin.

PracticallyImperfectInEveryWay · 13/12/2010 00:51

Envy Darnsarfupnorf!

Do love the name that we agreed on for DD but it was heartbreaking letting some of those go :).

beijingaling · 13/12/2010 00:43

Every time I suggested Stella (gibbons- author of cold comfort farm & best book ever) dh would do his best rocky impression and throw his arms in the air and shout:

Steeeeeellllllllllaaaaaaaaaaa.

I still adore it.

Darnsarfupnorf · 13/12/2010 00:40

practicalyimperfect mines the same (sob!) but orla was the only one we agreed on Grin

PracticallyImperfectInEveryWay · 13/12/2010 00:30

Tabitha, Orla, Eden , Felicity.
Spencer, Joseph, Zachary.

He's a bit of a name grinch :(.

bunnymother · 12/12/2010 23:04

Eleanor (Roosevelt / of Aquitaine)
Leonora (Eleanor derivative)
Diana (moon goddess, Diana the Huntress NOT P of Wales)

TheRedQueen · 12/12/2010 23:03

Miriam.

Darnsarfupnorf · 12/12/2010 23:00

OH didnt like stella because its reminded him of the beer...i liked it though :(

defineme · 12/12/2010 22:58

I still think dd could have been Stella, but as she's a name that others on this htread have had vetoed perhaps I should be grateful!

Otis was another, but I'm happy with ds1 and ds2's names so not bothered and think it may have been a little odd in retrospect.

Stella though would have been something great, dd probably will be anyway, but with a name like Stella how could she fail?

Darnsarfupnorf · 12/12/2010 22:52

haha hormones i def agree! surely as we do all the work and spend 9 months crying before going through labour we should get the final say?!

what really got we was that OH was a complete arse when i first found out i was pregnant as he was with someone else and after we eventualy sorted everythin out he comes strolling back in and has the nerve to veto!! grrr

hormonesnowmore · 12/12/2010 21:20

Geoffrey/Jeffrey.

Ex-h hated the name and we argued about it when I was in labour.

Midwife told him I should have final say as I'd gone through all the pain to have the baby - who turned out to be a girl anyway Xmas Grin

Iwasthefourthwiseman · 12/12/2010 21:18

LOL rockin!
