For a girl. Too old fashioned or just right?
I love it but DP is unmoved. What do you think?

I agree with Barbie: I could not think of a more hideous name to give a child. Really and truly.

BarbieLovesKen · 10/12/2010 22:11

Im really sorry but I cannot possibly think of a more awful or horrible name. Really terrible.

DilysPrice · 10/12/2010 18:39

I'd expect people to still be reading/watching Harry Potter in ten/twenty years time, so that'll be a no.

RockinRobinBird · 10/12/2010 18:37

Absolutely bloody hideous.

Rhubarbgarden · 10/12/2010 18:34

maktaitai · 10/12/2010 17:30

imahappycamper · 10/12/2010 17:27

I was at school with a Myrtle who started using her second name as soon as she possibly could.

Suncottage · 10/12/2010 14:46

[Very, very excited]

MarniesMummy · 10/12/2010 14:21

Myrtle but nickname of Tilly

ShoppingDays · 10/12/2010 14:15

Immediately thought of turtle. I do like Morag and Meryl though!

Hedwig3 · 10/12/2010 14:03

Fabulous!

MarniesMummy · 10/12/2010 14:02

Of course she will.
I'd forgotten about her.

I'm leaving the name Myrtle behind now...

My friend has a pug called Myrtle; I still quite like the name though Grin

MaryBS · 10/12/2010 13:58

I thought Moaning Myrtle from HP too. Definitely not in favour, sorry!

minipie · 10/12/2010 13:53

She'll be called Moaning Myrtle (from the Harry Potter books)

MarniesMummy · 10/12/2010 13:43

Mmmm! I hear you. I'm just so sad as I think it's such a lovely name. Guess I was testing the water prior to trying to convince DP.

Try pronouncing Myrtle in any language other than English (and even in English for some Smile) - very difficult!
