I have already mentioned this name on another recent thread... But just wanted to know what you all think of it...? I think it's fab and can't understand why it isn't more popular? (Knowing my luck, it'll be the height of fashion when I come to want to use it! Angry)

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I second LetThereBeRock. The 'Summer' part and the '-by' ending make it sound more girly than anything.

OP you did ask for opinions! It's pretty obscure - not that there's anything wrong with that in itself. Can I ask where you found/saw it?

LetThereBeRock · 24/11/2010 22:38

It's dreadful.

typsical · 24/11/2010 22:36

cory Why not?

Bunty and Lynette I agree, thank you :)

I like it.

Beats Thomas or Daniel hands down.

cory · 24/11/2010 22:24

so why would you want to call a little boy "summer village"?

BuntyPenfold · 24/11/2010 22:20

It sounds happy, a happy name.

SaorAlba · 24/11/2010 22:17

Just realised I'm thinking of Sotheby's.

typsical · 24/11/2010 22:00

Guacamo... I'll be very glad if it's not, so please don't be sorry

OP posts:
nannynobnobs · 24/11/2010 21:56

I think that's it onimolap :) not been that way for a while.

Guacamohohohole · 24/11/2010 21:56

"Knowing my luck, it'll be the height of fashion when I come to want to use it!"

Uuuuuummmm, sorry but I doubt that very much. I personally don't like it... But it's your DC!

SaorAlba · 24/11/2010 21:56

Is it not an auction place somewhere in england?

onimolap · 24/11/2010 21:55

Yes I think of it as a village as well.

nannynobnobs - do you mean the Fox and Hounds? (no I'm not local now, but was once upon a time)

typsical · 24/11/2010 21:53

Yes Sommersby was the film. Somerby is a boy's name, with one of it's meanings being 'summer village'. seeker and littleomar - who made you the experts...? Wink

OP posts:
BelligerentGhoul · 24/11/2010 21:53

Sorry but I think it's terrible. Feel free to ignore me though.

nannynobnobs · 24/11/2010 21:52

It's a village a few miles from me with a decent food pub.

littleomar · 24/11/2010 21:48

It isn;t more popular because it isn't a name. It sounds like a stately home!
