Panicked about names!!!!

meggy69 · 23/11/2010 09:57

After a shocking discovery that I was 28 weeks pregnant, I feel a little panicked about names.
I know there is still a while left, but with my other three children I have had 9 months to think and now it will be more like 2!
I don't know what I'm having so I need a boys name and a girls name.

It has to go with my other DC's names which are

Isabella
Edward
Lola

Any suggestions please, as my mind is Blank!!

Typ he's Samuel, but was very nearly Samson. :) Also Eleanora is the name we've chosen for our DD, whenever we have one. It was DH's grandmother's name and I think it's gorgeous. He wants to use Ella as nn, though, and I'm like, Sam 'n' Ella, are y'mad?! :o

lowrib · 02/12/2010 11:34

Elodie?

typsical · 30/11/2010 11:07

Thank you :)

meggy69 · 30/11/2010 09:07

I meant to say I honestly don't have a very good explanation!!!

MelinaM - Wow I am actually tempted with the Lily too! It sounds very pretty and my other two daughters have flower middle names.

kalo12- I honestly have a very good explanation, other than I have had a very stressful few months as my husband was diagnosed with cancer, I am also 40 and thought it was early menopause as my mother and aunt had this. I went to the doctor as I had stomach pain and a swollen stomach! And he informed me I 28 weeks pregnant! I think symptoms vary, and some have terrible morning sickness etc where some people hardly have any, if you are at all worried I would definitely go to the doctor, just for peace of mind. Congratulations though!!!

Typsical- I think Oliver River is a gorgeous name and really like how the two words sort of flow.

I really like Eleanor (and Eleanora for that matter), particularly nn. Nell. Charlotte was my pet hamster as a child...?! But I still love it! Is Sam Samuel or Samson? Like both, but there's something I love about Samson and can't put my finger on it!

CheerfulYank · 30/11/2010 01:17

I was just going to suggest Sam :) I love it, it's DS's name.

Eleanora?
Charlotte?
Susannah?

typsical · 30/11/2010 01:13

That is hilarious. My second dog was Max! Seriously. However it is also my nephew's name, and it does actually work rather well for him!! :)

MelinaM · 30/11/2010 00:50

Well I'm uber pleased to see that I'm not the only one who thinks that Sam ought be exclusively reserved for our canine friends! ..don't get me started on Max! ..or Joe!Grin

typsical · 29/11/2010 23:56

Thanks Mel, totally agree, and love love love my DS's name, just need to find another as good for DS2 (if and when he comes along!) x PS. My first dog was called Sam :) x

MelinaM · 29/11/2010 23:49

Bugger them darling, they're severely lacking in imagination! Would be a very boring planet of we all opted for Alfie/Josh/Sam (woof, woof), Izzy, Ruby ..etc!!!!! YAWN!

kalo12 · 29/11/2010 23:48

how did you not know you were pregnant? i am asking cos i am 8 weeks pregnant and had no symptoms at all and am very worried.

i like sophia, anna, julia,

thomas, joseph, oliver

typsical · 29/11/2010 23:44

Oliver is the best... you won't regret. I have an Oliver River :) (shh though, don't want all the sceptical faces looking this way because I have a nearly 'rhymer'! :))x

MelinaM · 29/11/2010 23:39

Oohhh lovely, Sophia Calla is my favourite ..I had to resist the urge to pop Lily on the endGrin

Oliver Ray is lovely too! x

frakkinup · 29/11/2010 11:21

I prefer Sophia first.

Isabella, Edward, Lola and Sophia sounds nice.

meggy69 · 29/11/2010 10:06

Have come to an almost decision!

For a girl she will either be

Sophia Calla Surname

or

Callia Sophia Surname

our Surnames is two syllables and begins with a H.

For a boy we have decided on

Oliver Ray Surname

Ray was my Grandfathers name.

Thoughts?

I have an Oliver and although it's popular (according to the Top 100 names), I only know of one other... And I know I am biased but I really do think it is a perfect name! I like that the word 'love' is jumbled up amongst its letters :) x To make it less 'common' why not give him an unusual middle name..?

meggy69 · 24/11/2010 16:51

That song is truly awful!

Yes I wasn't too sure about Ava.

I also have always really liked Jacob but feel that I couldn't call a baby Jacob now as some people would think I have some sort of obsession with twilight!

Ineedsomesleep · 24/11/2010 14:50

If you are worried about using Oliver due to its popularity I'd also avoid Ava as that is quite popular too.

And I'm sorry but Luca always makes me think of Sad

meggy69 · 24/11/2010 14:42

Wow thanks for the suggestions you are all really on the right lines, and have suggested some I was thinking of.

I love
Sophia, Ava, and Fleur

I really like Kate and Alice but these are my nieces names!

and for boys
Sebastian, Oliver (is this really popular atm though?), Seth and Thomas.

My husband has suggested Felicity for a girl which I do quite like and Luca for a boy but is Lola and Luca a bit similar?

Adalyn

Hannah
Kate
Daisy

Oliver

BelligerentGhoul · 23/11/2010 20:15

I think that Cecily, Violet, Alice, Daisy or Hazel would be lovely with your girls' names.

And Laurence, Theodore, Sebastian, James or Luke would go nicely.
